Guest Ken8143 Posted May 25, 2009 #1 Posted May 25, 2009 End of June last year I got a torn retina. Off the bike for 2 months. This spring - guess what - same thing in the other eye. This is not fun. Missing some nice riding days again. Well. The eye dr isn't saying "no," although he does not like bikes (shows you how much he knows). Installed the battery today. Changed the oil and filter. Fired up the beast. How she purred. I could just tell she missed being out of the garage. Tomorrow she gets her bath and then.... Man. I am so ready to hit the road! I think tomorrow is the day.
kenw Posted May 25, 2009 #2 Posted May 25, 2009 Sounds like you've had a rough time! Enjoy being back on the bike and take care!
99silver Posted May 25, 2009 #3 Posted May 25, 2009 I had a torn retina in January and met another rider at Marcarls M&E yesterday that had a torn and detatched retina. These are not fun at all, I got lucky and caught mine early. The Doc would not let me work for two weeks. Take care of things, can't ride without seeing. Gary
Venturous Randy Posted May 25, 2009 #4 Posted May 25, 2009 I am in my 4th day after cataract surgery and have been told to stay off the bike for two weeks or more. I was told absolutely no yard work for three weeks. We have had some of the most beautiful weather, but I know if I just let it heal up, I will enjoy my riding even more. Good luck on your eyes guys.
