Did anyone ever come up with a fix for the pewter wearing through and them falling off? I read that post and went out and looked at mine and it was there only by thread of pewter.

I think it would be easy enough to remedy. I would simply recommend perhaps a small piece of leather wrapped round the ring and then perhaps secure it a bit more tightly with a nylon tie or something so that it doesn't swing around as much.
