bongobobny Posted May 21, 2009 #1 Posted May 21, 2009 Here's the progress on the wiring as of right now. I've just got 1 more connector to replace then wire in the new and improved wiring harness, plus tie some grounds and brown leads together. Unfortunately I'm running out of chrome wire loom so that part won't get done. Our local Pep Boys is out of stock but there is a website from the manufacturer, www.spectreperformance.com so I will order from them...
stardbog Posted May 21, 2009 #2 Posted May 21, 2009 Cool Bob, Looks like bike need just few pices to put together, and ya'll be done in no time. Is blondie will be ready for Don's MD ???
bongobobny Posted May 21, 2009 Author #3 Posted May 21, 2009 Hey Dan! The real question is will I drive the cage or Goldie to Carl's M&E this weekend...
cecdoo Posted May 21, 2009 #4 Posted May 21, 2009 I was wondering how you were making out? Cant even imagine trying to straighten that mess out, when you are thru I have a big ball of Christmas lites you can work on. Good luck Bob you have alot more patience than I do. Craig
loehring Posted May 21, 2009 #5 Posted May 21, 2009 I wouldn't know where to start. You must have trained in India.
Squeeze Posted May 21, 2009 #6 Posted May 21, 2009 Outstanding Job Bob !! I'm sure you won't need the Cage. Why ?? Because if a Man is ready to tackle that Job, he's going to do just about anything to get it done in Time. My Hat is off to you. I sure would have bought another Wireing Harness.
Snaggletooth Posted May 21, 2009 #7 Posted May 21, 2009 I'll give ya credit Bob. You are dedicated. I was whining the whole time I was building the harness for my bumper and fender, LED marker and driving lights. I had nothing to crab about. Hang in there. Mike
Yammer Dan Posted May 21, 2009 #8 Posted May 21, 2009 I wish I could do that. First time I met Frogman I was having wiring problem with "Blue Beast" He took over and scared me to death!! Started throwing wires everywhere and cutting anything that got in the way!!! Before I got over my shock to stop him Bike was fixed!!!! Wiring just plain scares me.
N3FOL Posted May 21, 2009 #9 Posted May 21, 2009 Who spilled Spaghetti on your bike? I think I know exactly what your wiring problem is ... it is that wire 2nd to the left...I think it is yellow.
Venturous Randy Posted May 21, 2009 #10 Posted May 21, 2009 You da man, Bob. We all wish you the best and you know what they say about "how to eat an elephant.....one bite at a time". RandyA
Evan Posted May 21, 2009 #11 Posted May 21, 2009 Bob, the picture is amazing. Mother told me about it, but words just don't convey the challenge. Looking forward to seeing you and your gold VR on Saturday at Carl's.
wes0778 Posted May 21, 2009 #12 Posted May 21, 2009 keep repeating; Don't let the smoke out this time, Don't let the smoke out this time, Don't let the smoke out this time, Don't let the smoke out this time, Don't let the smoke out this time, Don't let the smoke out this time,
bongobobny Posted May 21, 2009 Author #13 Posted May 21, 2009 Dinner break, and I'm now wiring in the new fuse blocks, 6 fuses on the brown line, and 6 on the red line!! I also discovered that not all brown lines are created equal, some come from the ignition switch, and some are fused after that, ie horn, brake light switch, etc... It's taking a little longer than I expected, but the wiring should be done before I hang it up for the night!
sgn Posted May 22, 2009 #14 Posted May 22, 2009 My left rear turn signal is on all the time - still blinks when it should but just stays on. In your travels around the wire loom see any thing that might be a clue? Steve
