Hummingbird Posted May 21, 2009 #1 Posted May 21, 2009 A couple weeks ago I decided that I wanted a two tone Venture so I took everything off except the rear fender and left all of it at my local auto body shop (same place that did $10,000 repair to my Z71 when I met that deer in Pa ) Yesterday They called and said the parts were ready to be pin sripped and that Jaybird was waiting for me to decide the color. I met him there and we decided that a silver would be best. I left him to do his magic and was told that I should be able to pick everything up today. Now the question is, now that it's a two tone bike, is it still a MIDNIGHT Venture or is it a 10:30 Venture. Can't be midnight - it's not all black anymore. I don't have any pics yet but as soon as I get it back together I'll try to figure out how to post some pics.
BoomerCPO Posted May 21, 2009 #2 Posted May 21, 2009 IMHO I would say you no longer have a Midnight Venture....simply a Venture....... which will no longer run as fast as a Midnight. Boomer.......who thinks the only thing that should be two-toned is a toilet seat...... and a trap door in front of the refrigerator to nail the MIL.
Hummingbird Posted May 21, 2009 Author #3 Posted May 21, 2009 That's alright - I don't care about going fast anymore, I just wanna go
mini-muffin Posted May 21, 2009 #4 Posted May 21, 2009 So what's the other color now that you two toned it. Besides the silver pinstripe you didn't say. Inquiring minds need to know these things. Margaret

However, the addition of a silver stripe WILL increase its horsepower. Because we ALL know that the silver Ventures ARE the fastest.......
jfoster Posted May 21, 2009 #6 Posted May 21, 2009 Stupid question....can the lower plastic fairing and saddle bags be painted and not chip or peel?
SilvrT Posted May 21, 2009 #7 Posted May 21, 2009 Stupid question....can the lower plastic fairing and saddle bags be painted and not chip or peel? There are no stupid questions... only stupid answers and I am the ONLY ONE QUALIFIED to answer! The answer is YES, as long as nothing comes in contact with those areas....

If so, then according to them, it is still a MIDNIGHT Venture .... but nobody would believe it! They'd think you robbed the emblems offa one!
Hummingbird Posted May 21, 2009 Author #10 Posted May 21, 2009 So what's the other color now that you two toned it. Besides the silver pinstripe you didn't say. Inquiring minds need to know these things. Margaret The other color is a DuPont SpectraMaster YM516 - If anybody happens to have a color chart laying you will see that it's a pale green metalic. Hard to explain the color so I'll just have to go to MD on June 6th. Jaybird did some pin stripping on the black with silver as the main color and then topped it with a DARK green. On the green he did a black stripping, none of it was ( I hope) overdone but enough to show that he was there and that no tape was used. I have no Idea how to put pictures on here so any help in that area would be appreciated.
similost Posted May 21, 2009 #11 Posted May 21, 2009 Another way to look at it... I took the Roadstar badges off the tank of my Roadie, and put Wildstar badges on it.. which is about the only difference between the European version and the American version... The name and the badge.. so what do I ride now... A midnight is called that because of the paint supposedly.. so what happens when you change the paint..... I think you got a Venture, and I've got a Wildstar... just because we both changed the things that give them their name.
Hummingbird Posted May 21, 2009 Author #12 Posted May 21, 2009 Mabe you have a Twilight Venture now? That could well be - with the therapy on my knee :bang head: 3 days a week, I feel like in in my twilight

Guest tx2sturgis Posted May 23, 2009 #14 Posted May 23, 2009 Its not a 'Midnight' anymore...More like, '9:30 PM Central Time' Venture.
DaveDanger Posted May 26, 2009 #15 Posted May 26, 2009 It's now a Midnight Venture with Aurora Borealis highlighting (from the land of the midnight sun). I'm seriously looking into simply adding some Georgia Bulldawg Red pinstriping to my 06 MV.
Maritimer Posted May 26, 2009 #16 Posted May 26, 2009 Well, 5 days now and still no pics. I am starting to believe that new "mid-day" is non existing.
