I guess that Utah must have swallowed Goose up, we got a daily report when he was on his high adventure around the Texas border. I hope you are alright buddy. And if you get back in time sneak over to the M&E on the 27th

He must be having a great time. The weather was a little ugly on Tuesday evening/Wednesday Morn but other than that, he must be riding and kickin' his heals up and enjoying the mountains.

I hope he's having a fantastic vacation!!

We are around - put about 1,200 miles on QuickSilver since we got here Saturday afternoon. Quite a few of the target roads are still closed for snow, such as the Mirror Lake route, Nebo Loop, etc., but there have been lots of excellent options left for us.

We did a big loop up over Wolf Creek Pass and then down to Huntington on Monday - perfect conditions. Wolf Creek Pass is not a particularly tough or exciting bike road, but the country is spectacular and the amount of snow up there was the most we have seen on an open road.

Tuesday was a mixed day - we road out to Dinosaur National Monument on the Colorado border (about a 400 mile loop), only to find out they had the quary closed. :crying:

But it was still a nice ride. On the way back we thought we were gonna be nailed with a nasty black storm moving over the Wasatch mountains, but some how we got lucky and managed to skirt the edge of it with only a few showers and some very wet roads. Biggest problem is that I trusted the weather report and didn't put in any jacket or windbreaker to put on under my mesh riding jacket (really dumb move on my part). The ride back along Strawberry Reservoir around 8,000 feet under that nasty black cloud and with the heavy wind - Brrrrrrr! 50 degrees is NOT comfortable in a t-shirt under a mesh jacket!!

We'll probably take it easy for the next day or two before heading back on Saturday - looks like today will just be exploring around Sundance and that area. Ride safe all,

Goose

Now you know why I miss Utah so much, I grew up just below Sundance and we still have our trailer at the Provo river just up the canyon from there. We lived in Vernal while I was recruiting for the Army and we would have gone back except the better half was up seeing the kids in Feb and the temp never got over 20 degrees for 2 weeks straight, she came back and bought a house down here in San Antone and I guess we can't leave now. There are some fantastic twisties on the mirror lake highway. It just doesn't get enough snow off the road before late May or June in a normal year and this year they had even more snow. What happened to global warming
