frogmaster Posted May 19, 2009 #1 Posted May 19, 2009 OK I have this "Friend" who dropped his RSV 2008 BlackCherry over Raven and REALLY MESSED up his Fairing Scratched both colors and gouged the ABS and plastic Chrome Piece too. I know my "Friend" will not be calling his Insurance Co because he dropped it. I'm sure "Somebody" here has been in this boat before? What is this Mess-up gonna cost my "Friend"? My "Friend" has a sick feeling in his stomach he is so upset! PEPTOBIZMO (cherry flavor) guzzled.

SilvrT Posted May 19, 2009 #3 Posted May 19, 2009 Are you a little P/O'd at your "friend" ???? Did you cuss at him while looking in the mirror? Sorry to hear about your "friend's" mishap ...
Freebird Posted May 19, 2009 #4 Posted May 19, 2009 Man...I really hate to hear that. I think that Yamaha will ask for your first born for the fairing. Actually, I think it retails for about $650.00. You could get a discount on it from the Motorcycle Superstore but it's still going to be expensive. The first thing I would do would be to take it to a GOOD body shop and see if they can repair it.
frogmaster Posted May 19, 2009 Author #5 Posted May 19, 2009 You guys are the best Kbay... yep emailed Owen he did a nice job! SilvrT... yep he is getting it good the GF will make sure of that! Freebird... Thanks for the ballpark $$$ figure.

Small gouge near the hand flare and the two chrome strips are good and so is headlight chrome. Email me if interested Bubber aka Steve
Sideoftheroad Posted May 20, 2009 #8 Posted May 20, 2009 Why would you not call your insurance company? His fault, ummm I mean his friends fault. Depends on his deductible too. Might have a higher deductible than it would cost out of pocket and also most likely will raise his rates for filing the claim. Just as a guess.
