bendtdj Posted May 19, 2009 #1 Posted May 19, 2009 What have others here done to ease the "wrap around" wid for their passenger's comfort? On our ride last evening, Doreen was complaining about some buffeting coming around the fairing. I do not know what the "wings" are actually called, but have seen some on other bikes whil on the road. As for the short trip, we went back county roads around Madison, SD. One section is called Valley Road in NE McCook County. Nice curvey road (Doreen did not like that, but we are both new to this type of bike) good scenery, virtually no traffic. We went about 50 miles and enjoyed every minute of it. We are working our way up to longer rides. Hope to take a good trip later this summer. Thanks, Dave
dynodon Posted May 19, 2009 #2 Posted May 19, 2009 try this site: http://www.bakerbuilt.com/yamaha.htm the hand wings might be what you need, but they don't have them for the VR, they may have them for the RSV. The air wings with uppers don't really help with upper air control around the head or the hands, but they help a lot with the sides and legs. I bought the "lowers" for my VR and LOVE them. Keep my feet a LOT warmer in the cold and dryer in the wet. Pop right off for summer use and look good. This is a good company, their products are not cheap, but you get what you pay for, and their service is top notch. The wings with uppers might help your rider.
SapperMedic Posted May 19, 2009 #3 Posted May 19, 2009 I saw a VR winshield for sale on E-bay that had them attached to the windshield. If he hadn't wanted $80 for shipping I would have bid on it. I looked like factory and was about 10 inches long along both sides of the shield. My wife c/o the same thing but I am trying to decide on a taller windshield to se if that helps
mini-muffin Posted May 19, 2009 #4 Posted May 19, 2009 They make them for the early wings which you can use. The hubby had a set on his bike for a while, I don't remember what they did though. Margaret

I'd almost be interested in trying a set of the lowers for my RT, but I don't really feel like drilling any holes in the tupperware.

On our ride last evening, Doreen was complaining about some buffeting coming around the fairing. If she is complaining about the buffeting around her head, then the answer could be a Clearview windshield.. http://clearviewshields.com/shop/product.php?id=65 I got the XXL with vent on my bike and my wife noticed a marked improvement over the stock windshield. It is wider and taller than stock.
