Jerry W Posted May 18, 2009 #2 Posted May 18, 2009 Good thing the air filters are fairly high and kinda' protected by the lowers. How far up on the bike did the water come?
flb_78 Posted May 18, 2009 Author #3 Posted May 18, 2009 Good thing the air filters are fairly high and kinda' protected by the lowers. How far up on the bike did the water come? I was told it covered the mufflers and I was blowing bubbles. I was also spinning the rear tire coming up the hill!!

Tom Posted May 18, 2009 #9 Posted May 18, 2009 Try that with the green algae that grows seeming overnight in our low water crossings...makes riding on gravel look like an interstate!
Schlepporello Posted May 23, 2009 #10 Posted May 23, 2009 We get that green junk here too. I think what makes this crossing different though is the fact that it's the only one of six crossings in the park that you will always have water to drive through providing there is water in the creek. The othe five crossigs have channels underneath the surface for the water to flow through, thus allowing you to cross on a dry road way. Of course, one of those crossings has it's channels clogged at the moment. I visited with Forrest a bit this morning about this crossing. He's got more guts than I do to try a crossing at that speed with a bike that big. As I mentioned to him, it's been 30 years since I did things like that. These days, I'm a bit more cautious (translated "chicken").
