POP1 Posted May 18, 2009 #1 Posted May 18, 2009 I have an '09 RSV and I can hear what sounds like ignition interference in the headsets. Also, the CB goes ito the receive mode when I blow the horn and sometimes without the horn blowing and no one talking to me. This creates a loud static noise in the headsets. Does anyone else have this problem?
Freebird Posted May 18, 2009 #2 Posted May 18, 2009 The intercom static is a fairly common problem. The wires pass by pretty close to the ignition coil on the left from on the engine. You can usually just reach under and slightly move them towards the outside and it will stop the static. The CB going to receive mode is different. Are you SURE it's going to receive mode? Now I have heard of many reports of a loud feedback through the headsets when you blow the horn and maybe it IS caused by the CB but I've never heard it explained that way. At any rate, that seems to be a not so welcome characteristic of the these bikes and I'm not sure of a fix. Being that you bike is an '09 model, I think I would give the dealer a chance to figure it out. Don
StarQ Posted May 18, 2009 #3 Posted May 18, 2009 Did you recently change the spark plugs? If so, you might need noise suppressors on them or resitor plugs.
Disciple Rider Posted May 19, 2009 #4 Posted May 19, 2009 I have the same problem with interference. It appears that Freebird has a fix for that but the horn blowing sounds strange to me as well. I'm with Freebird on that one also. Let the dealer have a crack at it. Lets us know what you find out.
