Disciple Rider Posted May 17, 2009 #1 Posted May 17, 2009 I bought 08 Ultra Classic take offs and need to know what to do to install on my 09 RSV. I understand that the Harleys have a catalytic converter installed in one pipe. I don't know if the RSV has converters. Do I need to take the converter out of the Harley pipe? If so doesn't that mean that I'll just be running straight pipes on the RSV. I'm trying to just get a low rumble out of the RSV. Nothing to drastic just a nice tone. I'm on a budget and don't want to buy expensive pipes. I'M SO CONFUSED:bawling:
flb_78 Posted May 17, 2009 #2 Posted May 17, 2009 You can run it with the converter, it's not going to decrease the power. Some folks will bust out the catalyst with a metal rod, but it's not necessary. To mount them, you will need a set of brackets. You can either fabricate them yourself, or buy them from the classifieds section for $40. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/1729/cat/7
