the brake line from the rear master cylinder to the front left brake runs UP to the top of the tree and then DOWN to the front left bake cylinder

It seems that it will be a real B____H to bleed

there is likely a simple solution

Looking for someone to tell me how to do it ??

Thanx

There is a Proportioning unit located by top of steering Fork. It has a Bleed Screw.

However I have found that Bleeding lft front, then rear, then front again, go back and forth, a few times does seems to work.

I use the My-T-Vac tool to get started and completly replace All of the Fluid.

I use Valvoline Synthectic Brake fluid.

Be sure to check the Inner Pad on rear caliper, they wear faster then the outer pads.

I use a hand operated brake bleeding tool.. basically a pump you put on the bleed valve, then suck all the fluid and air out with.. be careful and don't drain the reservoir empty though... I will also crack the banjo's at first to get the air out of them before using the tool.. just crack the banjo, then depress the pedel or pull the lever slowly until fluid leaks out, and tighten while still slowly flowing..

Very quick and easy with the right tool...

I don't think an 84 has this bleed point.

The way I bleed brakes or the clutch on these bikes it to make sure the reservior is full and then loosen the bleed valve and place my finger over it, which makes a check valve. I then pump fairly quickly, pumping a lot of fluid through. I then check the reservior to make sure it has enough fluid. Once I am comfortable the fluid is fresh, I will do a few bleeds where I snug the bleed valve, pump it up and bleed it down.

This is the poor mans speed bleeder. I do this to get the system full and this will cause those high places like at the steering to push the bubbles thru. I then use brake parts cleaner to get the brake fluid off everything.

It works for me.
