Anybody recognize this?

What is this part, where does it go, what does it do and is it important or not.

 

During the most recent carb maintenance this weekend, the magnet picked this up from inside the center of the v In between the cylinder heads.

 

It seems like I have seen it before but for the life of me I can't remember where it goes.

Looks like the piece (glass retainer?), from inside of the engine oil level sight glass.

Been a while since I disassembled the choke handle, but for some reason I seem to remember something in there that looked like that. Could be wrong but.....

That is a spring type lock washer the usually has a tapered head screw. They are used in some bearing locking brackets on the side of the engine cases.

pic is a little blurry so it looks like it could be the blades out of an electric razor (the circular head kind).
