I generally ride with the CD player blaring so I'm not sure. The one time the audio

was off I did hear some whine, but far less than the Wing I demoed. Not bashing

the Wing, just an observation. I think, unlike a car, when you're sitting over the

exposed engine and transmission you're bound to here some noise.

All a person needs to do is ride a Ducatti for a few minutes and listen to the chatter of the lifters on them at idle, and you will think these Ventures are the most quiet bike you've ever been on.. For that matter.. you just need to be about a half a block down the street from a Ducatti idling at a light to listen... They actually sound like the clutch in them is about to fly apart..

All bikes have their own sounds they make.. some much worse than others...

Not all RSVs have a "clutch whine"

Those that do, some are quieter than others.

A few are unbearable, to the point of getting Yamaha to attempt to correct the noise.

Sometimes the fix works, sometimes it just changes the noise.

My RSV does not have the "clutch whine"

Of those I have read about 99.99999% of them were fixable.

If you are concerned, test ride before you buy.

I bought my RSV new from the dealer with out test ridding it and am 100% happy with it!!!!!!

WOOOOO HOOOOOOO what a GREAT bike!!!!!!!
