JerryK Posted May 8, 2009 #1 Posted May 8, 2009 I have factory CD changer from totaled 2000 Venture I had and need the Yamaha short cable.....does anyone know how I can get just the cable from Yamaha? JerryK
M61A1MECH Posted May 8, 2009 #2 Posted May 8, 2009 Jerry I needed the same thing a few years back and managed to get one from a car audio place. I purchased a C-BUS cable part number CCA-329-500, it is a 5 meter cable, so there was some slack to store in the fairing but no real problem. The only issue was that the factory cable has a rubber boot on the fairing end to keep water out and this cable does not. I was able to make a suitable boot from a rubber cap I had and then just wrapped the connection in a plastic bag to ensure that it was water proof. Cost was around $70.00 off the shelf, i seem to remember finding one on the internet for around $40.00 but did not want to wait for it to arrive. Hope this helps
midnightventure Posted May 8, 2009 #3 Posted May 8, 2009 I have a cbus cable. I would sell it for 17.00 shipped in the US. If you want it contact me.
ablumny Posted May 8, 2009 #4 Posted May 8, 2009 The 03 RSV I just bought came with a CD changer thats integrated liek the factory one and an spare long looking cable. You are welcome to it for free, just the shipping if you think you can use it.
JerryK Posted May 8, 2009 Author #5 Posted May 8, 2009 Good News......I got the Yamaha # for factory short cable STR-CDCHG-11-00
JerryK Posted May 8, 2009 Author #6 Posted May 8, 2009 The part # is STR-CDCHG-11-00 I got it cause my totaled 2000 had it installed at dealer when new......Mark at Yamaha got it for me.
M61A1MECH Posted July 24, 2011 #7 Posted July 24, 2011 My CD cable went bad, I know the power line at least is broken, no power to CD. Does anyone have a spare laying around they want to part with. Have found the same as I put in originally, but it has an angled connector on both ends, would like to get the factory style if possible, with 90 degree on one end and straight on the other end, have not found those on the internet yet, except for Yamaha part and it is double the price of a standard car audio cable, like I have. Thanks
