BigBoyinMS Posted May 7, 2009 #1 Posted May 7, 2009 I'm thinking of doing the H-D muffler swap on my RSV and can get a set from an '08 Ultra Classic. I got to checking on info on removing the cat's and found out that some late model H-D's don't have cat's in the mufflers... the cat's are in the head pipe. Does anyone know where the cat is on the '08 Ultra Classic?
hilliss Posted May 8, 2009 #2 Posted May 8, 2009 Could be mistaken, however I believe all HD touring bikes (including 2008) will have the cat in the pipes themselves. You can always drill through, or look for a set of older take-offs with the P/N ending with 95, 95a, 98, or 98a. This will mean that the pipes do NOT have a catalyst.
usnmustang Posted May 9, 2009 #3 Posted May 9, 2009 Agreed, the cat, if there is one, is right inside the input. Big honeycomb section about 2 inches deep. The set I bought had one (wierd) with a cat in it. I just drilled it out.
