trunk reflector

I hope someone out there can tell me this.

 

Will the trunk reflector from an 86 up 1st Gen fit an 85 trunk? They LOOK the same.

Hey Wayne,

The part number for the 1986-1993 as well as the 1985 VR is: 54K-85140-00-00.

So the answer is "Yes".

Is that the trunk reflecor with the lights behind it or just the reflector?????? Need left amber reflector with light. Anyone know????? :canada:

Hey Stewart,

This part number: 54K-85140-00-00 is for the reflector.

I was not able to find a part number for the Light Bar reflector.

I have the standard reflector on my 86'VR and the light bar reflector on my 87' VR.

I am not sure how Yamaha decided which bike got which reflector. Perhaps the light bar reflector was a "VentureLine" option.

I believe it was bigbikes.com that used to sell the lighted reflector for about $50. I put one on a friends 89 and also put strobes in it that activated with the brakes.

I just checked both bigbikes abd JC Whitney and did not see it listed.

Thanks Earl: That is what I needed to know. I believe about 6 months ago JC Whitney sold the last lighted one they had and those are no longer available.

Yeah, they were closing them out and I picked up one for the '93 for 50 bucks or so. Still haven't installed it.... no don't ask... Wish I'd bought everything they had left.... Oh well... Hind Sight!!

I changed the regulator but that didn't solve the problem. Carl is helping me Change the Stator tomorrow night. I have a spare rebuilt one so ordered the gaskets and hope they are in tomorrow. I'll keep you posted on the outcome.
