Over it's 3000 mile life my 08 gets about 36 in town. That improves to 43 if I keep the revs up. I have not had it on a trip yet so I don't know if it will turn out good or better.

Living out west, Wyoming, our speed limits and the "tolerance" given by the average traffic officer are a bit higher than you folks back east or the left coast. On the interstate I set my cruise at max which is a GPS confirmed 80mph, (indicated 85-87mph). I, (we), usually ride two up and carrying a fair load of cargo. Our typical interstate mileage is 30-34mpg using the odometer. Had one tank last June that was down to 22mpg, but we were pushing an awsome head wind on I-80 and running a GPS confirmed 90mph. Had to use 4th gear much of the time with that wind and the speed we were running.

Two years ago on an organized group ride we actually got 49mpg and so bored I couldn't see straight.:backinmyday: Two lane mileage is typically 35-42mpg depending on the specific conditions.

I would love to get better fuel mileage, but I'm not going to quit twisting my right wrist to get it.:no-no-no:

Too many variables in the way I ride to quote fuel mileage...

Now if someone would start a Smilage (smiles per mile ridden) mine would be off the chart most of the time I ride.

54 mpg.....but you gotta remember....the hubby never goes over the speed limit...usually slows down at green lights....and the new chrome light visors I gave him....well, he doesn't want to put them on because he's afraid it will knock down his mileage!!!

This is coming from one patient wifey who tends to always go faster than the speed limit, goes through yellow lights, and loves any form of chrome!

We will be celebrating 30 yrs of marriage this summer.....amazing isn't it?

This thread sure did started in 2007...long time ago. :scubadive:

As far as gas mileage is concerned, I may get 41 to 43 mpg during the summer. My Ventures lifetime mpg with over 11K miles on it is below. Off course, we all know that mpg suffers a little bit during winter.

Ride safe.
