Rottdoglover Posted May 4, 2009 #1 Posted May 4, 2009 Don't get me wrong, I like my Gen 1 Venture but get cramped up on longer rides. So I went to JUST LOOK at a 2002 GW with 25K miles on it. Well, I made an offer I thought the guy would counter (you know the game) and he says OK. Just got it home and put insurance on it. Will get plates tomorrow and be set. For now I am keeping my Venture to pull it's matching trailer. Get a lot of kicks watching people's reaction to trailer.
MiCarl Posted May 4, 2009 #3 Posted May 4, 2009 Well, steering neck is bent on mine:95: If you decide to paint that trailer orange let me know..........
loehring Posted May 4, 2009 #4 Posted May 4, 2009 We won't disown you. The dark side of The Force can be very seductive.

Keep the 1st Gen as your daily go to work and grocery getter, and the wing for the weekends and trips. That's what I do.
Eddie Fulmer Posted May 4, 2009 #9 Posted May 4, 2009 I wouldn't ride that tupperware bowl anywhere!!! What's worse is then you rub it in our faces>..... Really hope you enjoy it. I ride with a lot of folks that love them. They just don't fit me. I feel cramped on the things. Go figure. On the other hand if the government would.....oh I'm trying not to go there....LOL
Snarley Bill Posted May 5, 2009 #11 Posted May 5, 2009 very nice looking wing. bring it down to the st. charles meet this week. so we can see it. you won't be the only winger here. bill :clap2:
eagleeye Posted May 5, 2009 #13 Posted May 5, 2009 love the colour. What does the trailer look like? Steve
captnmidnight Posted May 5, 2009 #14 Posted May 5, 2009 Question?... how do you think it runs compared to the rsv?..and handles?. I do like alot of what the wing has to offer,IE:more power, heated seats, better sound,GPS,reverse for towing, and TONS!of aftermarket stuff available. However I do like the RSV's retro styling better. I like being able to see the engine instead of plastic. And the wing seems to be more cramped when it comes to seating position. Anyway enjoy your wing my friend!!.....Traitor.
Eck Posted May 5, 2009 #15 Posted May 5, 2009 Il'd like to put in my two cents on this.. How does the GW compare to the RSV...? GW has a heck of a lot more power... (duh).. but who really rides over 70MPH ayway. Handles a lot better then the RSV. Low center of gavity -v/s - RSV being so top heavy IE = Yep the GW does have it and is very nice Heated seats = yep, but this inst a big selling point to me. Sound= I really think the RSV had a lot better sound then this GW does GPS- Well I know many RSV's that have GPS and they work just fine Reverse = I never park where I would need it anyway, same with my old RSV Comfort = Not near as nice as the RSV was. After market stuff - Yea, but RSV is coming along well in that arena too. RSV is a lot easier to work on RSV looks a lot better then seeing tupperware, however, tupperware is really easy to clean and takes a whole lot less time to do so. Storage capacity = pretty much the same Question?... how do you think it runs compared to the rsv?..and handles?. I do like alot of what the wing has to offer,IE:more power, heated seats, better sound,GPS,reverse for towing, and TONS!of aftermarket stuff available. However I do like the RSV's retro styling better. Rottdoglover Posted May 5, 2009 Author #16 Posted May 5, 2009 Tupperware? A plastic container that holds FOOD! An appropriate item for an EATING club (with a riding disorder) I woud think.

1BigDog Posted May 5, 2009 #19 Posted May 5, 2009 Maybe we have to change your name to RottonTraitorSwineLover........... Actually, shes a beaut. I do love the color too. Good luck.
Yama Mama Posted May 5, 2009 #20 Posted May 5, 2009 Rottie you know we are all happy for you. After all this site is accepting of all brands of motorcycles. Some we like better than others, but who's to say. Just make sure you still are here to join in as usual, that is the only requirement. That is a beautiful GW, and I love the color. I want to know how your wife compares the two, as far as which is the most comfortable to ride. Yama Mama

I just have to believe her as I'm not going to be passenger while she drives. And I don't really take the ribbing to serious as I still have the Venture to thank for finding this site.
