4 ways don't work on trailer

08 Royal Star Venture - I purchased a cargo trailer (Cyclemate CM-1000) that has a "5 wire" system. Using the layout you see below everything works -- except the "4 way flashers" on the bike. When the trailer is plugged in they blink once and then go out. Unplug the trailer and they work fine.

 

Dark green is the right turn signal.

Dark brown is the left turn signal.

Blue is the tail light.

Yellow is the brake light.

White is ground.

 

Is there something I am missing?

When I was pulling my trailer with my RSV I had the same problem never worried about it

Do you have LEDS on the trailer? I hooked my trailer to a 4 pin flat connector with a modulite for leds and all works great.

if you don't put relays in line, the auto cancel signals will also not work properly.

see if this works for ya? i have added color codes to match the rsv.

i have made 3 sets of these for other members, and they are trouble free.

ran a dedicated ground to trailer also, not in the picture..sorry

I had the same problem. My trailer had regular lights on it. I switched the rear lighting to LED and the flashers worked just fines after that.
