Freebird Posted April 28, 2009 #1 Posted April 28, 2009 Just wondering if anybody here has tried shortening the cable for the Zumo XM unit? I wish it was only about 12" long. Even in my car, I sit it on the dash right under the windshield mount for the unit. A 12" cable would be plenty.
BuddyRich Posted April 28, 2009 #2 Posted April 28, 2009 Never tried it. But its going to be difficult at best. 18 pin lead and probably a shielded cable. You'll wind up with a ugly ball if you cut and splice

Hummingbird Posted April 29, 2009 #5 Posted April 29, 2009 Freebird - I have the Zumo 550 XM on my Venture and am trying to find fixtures so that I can just unlock the zumo and put it in the truck. Also, I'll most likely have to get an XM antenna for the truck as well ??
