muffinman Posted April 27, 2009 #1 Posted April 27, 2009 I will be able to do Maint day,The Skid in and Ashville but as of right this moment I will be leaving for Iraq on the 15th of July. Sledgehammer has agreed to let me store 3 of the bikes in his barn and ADC is going to come by the house and ride the SS bike for me.Mini may or may not be good on the web site. I am going to say I am sorry for all the pot stirring she is going to do while I am gone for the year. I will miss everyone while I am gone but ya gotta do what you gotta do so I am going over to work on as they are saying at the moment H60s for the Army and Airforce. I will check in as often as possible while I am over in the sand box. I will have Mini keep everone informed of my status while I am away and I am sure that she will set up a meet and eat for when I get home. Dont worry she will still make it to some of the meet and eats while I am gone she already started making arangments to get some riding in with a few of our members. Jeff
cecdoo Posted April 27, 2009 #2 Posted April 27, 2009 Are you gonna teach Tim everything you know before you leave, so he can fix our bikes while you're gone:yikes: Everyone is gonna miss you around here, but like you said, "you gotta do what you gotta do" hope it all works out for ya, and the year goes quick and you get back safe. Good luck and I'll see ya before you leave, Thanks for the warning about Mini LOL Craig
SaltyDawg Posted April 27, 2009 #3 Posted April 27, 2009 Sorry to hear you are heading over. Hopefully the money will make up for the lost time. If you guys need anything at all, don't hesitate to call. We need to do deadwood a time or two before you split. Take care.
utadventure Posted April 27, 2009 #4 Posted April 27, 2009 Jeff- Good luck on your stint in Iraq - be safe. Your help will be missed during your time away. Thanks to your instruction, I was able to change the valve cover gaskets yesterday. Enjoy your time left!! Ride hard. Dave

Freebird Posted April 27, 2009 #13 Posted April 27, 2009 Dang it Jeff, I am happy for you if it is what you want but sad that you will be away. I know that things have gotten much better over there but there is still plenty of danger. PLEASE take care of yourself and watch your back. We will truly miss you. Maybe you could send Mini instead?

Venturous Randy Posted April 27, 2009 #16 Posted April 27, 2009 Wow Jeff, I am sure they could use your help over there, but this will be a tough one. I just hope the troup reduction is not going to make it worse on everyone that's there. We will be looking forward to seeing you at Asheville. RandyA

Monty Posted April 27, 2009 #18 Posted April 27, 2009 Enjoy every day here while you can, and good luck over there. I know a guy here who maintains the birds at Ft. Campbell, and he has done some 1 year stints over there. I turned down a job with Raytheon, working on the optics, because I don't want to be over there all the time. I hope you have a safe trip. Be careful.
sarges46 Posted April 27, 2009 #19 Posted April 27, 2009 Wow....you take care over there. Gonna miss meeting you this go around.
Eck Posted April 27, 2009 #20 Posted April 27, 2009 Jeff, Looks like we will have to share a cold one at MD. Maybe a couple.. If you two need anything just lest us know. Oh and take your height measurement now and then again when you return.. Most when they return are much shorter..they spend so much time pulling their head in like a turtle their neck becomes shorter...but where your going should be a lot safer ....than being on the front lines.
Terry Richardson Posted April 27, 2009 #21 Posted April 27, 2009 WOW Jeff chalk one more up for didnt see that coming. Hey bro I appreciate all the info you have given me since signing up with VR these last couple years. You have been instrumental in keeping my old ventures alive. God bless you my friend and you will be in our prayers. Like the rest... if there is anything I can do for the man that has done so much for others... please let me know. Terry

mini-muffin Posted April 27, 2009 #24 Posted April 27, 2009 Well I knew something was up when Mini said they wouldnt be making Vogel this year..........but I thought it was a vac. issue............ Actually that was the reason at first. The new company that picked up the contract terminated everyone's vacation time for the year. Only allowed a day here and a day there. Margaret
Redneck Posted April 27, 2009 #25 Posted April 27, 2009 That will be an adventure good luck and come home in one piece.
