similost Posted April 23, 2009 #1 Posted April 23, 2009 OK.. It's bare bones stock. I had just got back from the frist real ride tonight. Short, but I still gout about 40 miles on it. It's dirty in the pictures, but I also shined it up after the pictures.. The sticker on the tank is now gone. I also did my very first mod... I pit a little spiked cap on the rear shock air valve... Yeah, it's small, but it's only a day old... OH.. all I can say about the ride... WOAH!!!! Much more engine than I thought once I really got it wrapped, and curves are a lot more of a blast than they are on the Roadie..
Wanderer Posted April 23, 2009 #2 Posted April 23, 2009 Hey, I didn't see the spiked valve cap. Very nice.
Yammer Dan Posted April 23, 2009 #4 Posted April 23, 2009 NICE!! When you get done with that one you can move up to a 1st Gen!!
similost Posted April 23, 2009 Author #5 Posted April 23, 2009 Bare bones stock is a beautiful thing. Nice bike. LOL.. yeah... kinda like a fresh new white canvas...
similost Posted April 23, 2009 Author #6 Posted April 23, 2009 NICE!! When you get done with that one you can move up to a 1st Gen!! Hahaha.... I doubt that.. it's probably going to be a complete redesign of my Roadie..
mrc Posted April 23, 2009 #7 Posted April 23, 2009 NICE!! When you get done with that one you can move up to a 1st Gen!! Didn’t he make the spiked valve cap from a 1st Gen
Sleeperhawk Posted April 23, 2009 #8 Posted April 23, 2009 Hey, my bike resembles yours. Love that color. :cool10:
Marcarl Posted April 23, 2009 #10 Posted April 23, 2009 Train yourself well on that machine,,,you'll love it,,,,so much so that soon you'll want more,, more chrome,,more comfort, more power,, more speed,, more handling capabilities,, more mileage,,,come to think of it,, I think Yammer's right. It's looking good so far, keep the rubber down, and the skid lid high, and you'll enjoy it for many years.
Yama Mama Posted April 23, 2009 #11 Posted April 23, 2009 Very beautiful motorcycle. You are a lucky guy. Enjoy every mile of your rides this year and always. Yama Mama:thumbsup2:
Riderduke Posted April 23, 2009 #13 Posted April 23, 2009 Semilost, Nice bike, where in Virginia are you located in? I live in Fredericksburg.

I'm already there.. last night I hit up against the rev limit in first... now that's gotta go already.. SO.. I think a Dyna 3000 is already in order.. the wife don't like the sound of the pieps.. SOooooo... I can't get her tu understand it will never sound like our roadie though, and I don't want it near that loud anyway.. BUT.. ya gotta let an engine breath.. so I'm sure that will lead to some new filters and jet work... Chrome don't get you home, but it sure makes you look better, so I've already got a list of stuff I want to get added or replaced that isn't only looks, but function too.... This ain't my first rodeo, so believe me.. I know what a long trip it can be.. and yeah.. strange at times too..

Oh I forgot, I was gonna shut something. What was it??
cookie Posted April 23, 2009 #17 Posted April 23, 2009 They do corner nicer than I expected. She's a really great ride. I just had mine on the Dragon the first of April, and it was fantastic. Although, when looking at the pics online, she was alot closer to the ground than I imagined. I will have to add a touch more air to the back when I go to the Vogel ride.
Yammer Dan Posted April 24, 2009 #19 Posted April 24, 2009 Looks good, but then all 2nd gens look good. Hey I will admit. 2nd Gens look good. Good enough to come in 2nd.
similost Posted April 24, 2009 Author #20 Posted April 24, 2009 Yeah well.. I got a way of working over engines.. never know.. maybe some day...
Skid Posted April 25, 2009 #21 Posted April 25, 2009 Hey I will admit. 2nd Gens look good. Did I hear Dan right?
Squidley Posted April 26, 2009 #23 Posted April 26, 2009 Weak moment and "Ugly" is broke!! Get on a 2nd gen and you'd be riding...not fixing
davecb Posted April 27, 2009 #24 Posted April 27, 2009 Me thinks Yammer Dan is just jealous because he doesn't own a 2nd Gen
