rode again yesterday

i went for a ride yesterday.. i couldnt find anyone to ride with so i went alone.. i rode 287 miles alone.. i dont know if anyone else has this problem, but when i ride alone i just cant seem to make up my mind where i am headed.. i may start heading south but may very well end up going north.. but i guess that i really dont care.. as long as i can ride.. since i have lost weight i can mount and dismount a whole a lot much easier. learning to ride at 55 -60 mph now.. i used to be very hard to not go 75+mph.. when i ride alone my buddy is not there to keep me slow down.. startin to get used to this no job thingy.. now the wife is naggin me to work around here.. gotta find a job, at least then i know when im done..lol:smile11:

I have the same problem. When I go for a ride alone, I dont know whether to head north or south, east or west. Instead of going for long ride though I end up getting frustrated and head for the house.

When I get to ride alone I take advantage of that by going exploring. Stopping at new places to eat and/or relax works well for me. My GPS is now loaded with good food stops all over the State....including all the Hooters locations as well....

To see you guys posting and being excited about going for a ride in APRIL - I haven't quit riding yet.

 

That leads to a joke - You know why the south is so windy? Cause the north sucks.

 

 

I would hate to have to prepare my bike for winter and wait for 6 months to go for a ride. I feel for you guys! Enjoy - now that you can go!

I assume you are happy to go because of the weather and not being physically unable - either way... glad you can ride now.

This reminds me of being with my brother-in-law once. We were in his Ford F250 that he uses to go from point A to point B. I had him stop at a cycle shop for me to pick up something and while I ran in, there were a couple of guys on Goldwings with trailers leaving. As I was getting back in the truck, I asked where they were headed and they responded the Florida Keys on vacation. My BIL stated he could not figure why anyone would ride a motorcycle to the vacation spot. He said he guessed he could see trailering one and riding when he got there .

I told him the difference was if you were riding a bike, the vacation started when you left and if you towed it, the vaction started when you got there. I really don't think he understood what I meant.

This remeinds me of what I told my wife when I introduced her to riding 4 yrs ago (when we were still dating) ... I said .. "going on a trip on a bike has nothing to do with the destination... it has EVERYTHING to do with the ride getting there" ... didn't take her long to understand what I meant.
