BoomerCPO Posted April 22, 2009 #26 Posted April 22, 2009 Duct taped my wife to the garage wall:Im not listening to:bang head: Yer my kinda guy Brake Pad!! Boomer....who has Cable TV,shag carpet, beer cooler, and a water bed in his dog house.
eazyduzzit Posted April 22, 2009 #27 Posted April 22, 2009 I like the Custom World International backrest, and Flander's bars. Welcome to the site, by the way.
Sylvester Posted April 23, 2009 #28 Posted April 23, 2009 Had the engine worked on by a pro back in 02, and now have 108 HP at the back tire. Eat up the others whenever I want. And no, I can't tell you what was done.
dynodon Posted April 23, 2009 #29 Posted April 23, 2009 Baker Built FootWings on my '86 VR. They keep the wind off my feet in cold weather, and will keep rain off them in wet weather.
Rocket Posted April 23, 2009 #30 Posted April 23, 2009 #1 S.S. Braided lines #2 Driving Lights #3 Steble Air Horn More to test out yet.
Venturous Randy Posted April 23, 2009 #31 Posted April 23, 2009 I probably have one of the more "unique" early 1st gens with a lot of mods. Functional: Corbin seat lowered 1-1/2 inches, upgraded head light to 86 up style, running lights, arm rests for wife I made with her own cup holder. Blaupunkt CD-MP3 player with 4 speakers installed. Safety: Air horns, Strobes in head light, strobes in trunk light bar with LED lights on trunk when brakes activated. Looks: painted Twight Royal Pearl, a soft pearl purple with ghost flames. Made "bikini" side panels to open engine up with lowers removed. Polished front forks, handle bars and engine covers. There are probably more than I can think of, but all these things are my favorite and I use them all!!! RandyA
ronhenry4 Posted April 23, 2009 #33 Posted April 23, 2009 my list is long and dont know if the LED's are my fav or not (just added color changing lights the back rest, all the "satey chrome" driving lights led tail light trailer and hitch hmmm seems to be a long list.... Grasshopper
similost Posted April 23, 2009 Author #34 Posted April 23, 2009 Amazing how it's so hard to decide what you like the most.. other than the bike as the whole.. Loved the Wing to Venture mod.. LOL... I made my very first change to my bike tonight.. the only new part I had laying around that would fit.. I replaced the plastic valve cover for the rear shock with a chrome spike cap... EH.. it's a start..
ronhenry4 Posted April 23, 2009 #35 Posted April 23, 2009 the day i bought my 07 i also bought 3000 buck worth of chrome lol
OutlawRider Posted April 23, 2009 #36 Posted April 23, 2009 Mine was the driving lights before I picked it up I want to be seen as much as possible. Also had the trunk rack put on at the same time. The next was the LED brake light bar for visiblity from the rear. Now I can start adding the good stuff.
hig4s Posted April 23, 2009 #38 Posted April 23, 2009 For me the Utopia back rest was the best mod.. The XXL Clearview shield would probably be my wife's favorite mod, she gets lots less buffeting now. Second for me would be the lowers vents,, when it is hot down here in the summer they make a big difference. Luggage rack is real handy, Battery tender connection almost a necessity, Zumo 550 with 4gig memory card for MP3s just plain fun. LED brake light makes me feel a little more comfortable that I'll be noticed when I stop. XM radio,, was OK but now that I have the Zumo, it will be coming off.
aaron Posted April 23, 2009 #39 Posted April 23, 2009 I will second the Utopia backrest. I would always get a knot in my upper back while riding, sometimes even short distances. I rode to the black hills last year after putting on my backrest and had no problem at all.
cookie Posted April 23, 2009 #40 Posted April 23, 2009 I would have to say backrest, cup holder and armrest for the wife. If she's not comfortable, I wont be...LOL Driving Lights and luggage rack are on order and will be installed asap.
DFWRSTD Posted April 23, 2009 #41 Posted April 23, 2009 I can't stop, I can't stop. I've added everything I can think of so far to my bike and I know there's more to be had..gimme gimme gimme, I think I might have a problem. The only thing that helps is knowing I'm not alone.
spear Posted April 23, 2009 #42 Posted April 23, 2009 1. Barons Risers (thanks Don) 2. Samson shotgun pipes (L-O-O-U-U-D!) 3. TomTom GPS. (won't get lost again.) 4. Guardian Bell (thanks again, Don.) 5. Radiator guard 6. Good country air in my tyres.

royalstarjac Posted April 23, 2009 #46 Posted April 23, 2009 Flanders Handlebars Ditto on that. The Flanders have allowed me to ride for more than a couple of hours without getting that knife in the shoulder blade pain. Now I ride all day in comfort. The Utopia backrest works in concert with the Flanders bars.-Jack
ManWithAVision Posted April 23, 2009 #47 Posted April 23, 2009 Ditto on that. The Flanders have allowed me to ride for more than a couple of hours without getting that knife in the shoulder blade pain. Now I ride all day in comfort. The Utopia backrest works in concert with the Flanders bars.-Jack Same for me. I love my Flanders pullbacks. All day rides are no longer a problem and a couple of hours was about the best I could do as well before I installed them. I also went to the Mustang seat with the driver backrest, which allows me to ride without my back belt. No more sore lower back, and my co-pilot likes the pillion a lot more too.
