Condor Posted April 21, 2009 #2 Posted April 21, 2009 That 45mph towing speed's a deal breaker for me....
Wizard765 Posted April 21, 2009 #3 Posted April 21, 2009 That's seems ok except for the 45MPH max towing speed. I don't know if the 2nd gens can get up to that...
flb_78 Posted April 21, 2009 #4 Posted April 21, 2009 I think all trailers have a 45mph posted speed limit. I know that all U-Haul trailers have that on the left fender written backwards so you can read it in the mirror. It's just a cover your butt thing. Looks a lot like a piggy backer. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/photos/66700-66799/66771.gif
Brake Pad Posted April 21, 2009 Author #5 Posted April 21, 2009 yup, its an insurance claws. we all no the tire will do highway speeds. also you can change the tire out, for 12" with the same lug holes
painterman67 Posted April 21, 2009 #6 Posted April 21, 2009 I 've got the 12 inch tires on my trailer and they say 45 mnh max also. Just a safety thing for the insurance. It pulls just fine so far up to 70 mph. David
BEER30 Posted April 21, 2009 #7 Posted April 21, 2009 I'll pass ...... My BEERCART can do over 100 mph any day of the week , any time of the day ! It has Mini-Cooper radial tires on it . BEER30
Mikealiasmike Posted April 21, 2009 #8 Posted April 21, 2009 I have the HF trailer thats approx 40x48 and want the grease caps to help greasing the bearings. Anybody know which ones they are? Picking up a spare bearing set anyway for back up and knowing how many members use this type of trailer might just come in handy.
murph35640 Posted April 21, 2009 #9 Posted April 21, 2009 Looks just like my Piggy without the rear bumper and the cooler rack!
Condor Posted April 21, 2009 #10 Posted April 21, 2009 Actually it looks like it might be a pretty good deal....if it can be picked up at a store, and the store price is the same as the online price. By the time you add a cooler rack, chrome wheels and coupler, spare tire and holder, spare bearings, And... shipping... the price'll probably be right up there with a Piggy. It does look the same on the surface, but I'd like to see how the frame is put together...
whanna Posted April 21, 2009 #11 Posted April 21, 2009 Here's something a little heavier (216#, an extra 60# or so), comes with the 12" tires stock. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=2575 If that diamond plate steel bed is just bolted on, that's probably counting for 20-30# - pop that off, put your cargo box on it... No 45 mph declaration, either. Use it with your car/truck, they claim 1350# load rating, too. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1350 Lb. Capacity, 40" x 50" Utility Trailer with 12" Wheels and Tires http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/gifs/clear.gif This compact hauler has a 14 gauge steel bed for extra heavy loads. Includes coupler, tail lights, wiring harness, safety chain. Diamond tread steel bed Rust-resistant powder coat finish 4.80-12 DOT certified tires Easy assembly Bed dimensions: 40" x 50"; Weight capacity: 1350 lbs; Receiver size: 1-7/8"; Tongue level height: 14"; Overall dimensions: 87-1/2" L x 52-3/4" W x 22-3/4" H Shipping weight: 216 lbs.
