Thanks for the link. I have watched it from day one. Even brought the model and added pieces as it was being installed. Watch it go over whenever I can.

I too, watch it fly over when the sun angle is correct. And being a HAM operator, have had several contacts with the astronauts on orbit. If any of you have a programable scanner, the freq to enter for the downlink is 145.800

 

It increases your chances of hearing it if you have a good outdoor antenna on your scanner, but even a small whip antenna on a scanner will be able to hear it when it passes over your location, IF they are transmitting. Some downlink audio will be the SAREX/ARISS repeaters, and thru those you will hear ground stations contacting one another THRU the ISS ham station. But if you hear the call sign, R0ISS, (thats a ZERO) then you are actually hearing astronauts with a ham liscense making earth contacts. Pretty cool stuff!

If anyone has Dish Network out there. Tune into channel 212 EARTH. Dish has a camera view of the earth 24/7. Its pretty awesome. I watched the sunrise this morning. They update the still evering 15 sec.
