Lepapehermann Posted August 14, 2007 #1 Posted August 14, 2007 Hello all, I am trying to locate the schematics and wiring diagrams for the radio and the CB on my 99 RSV but I am ending nowhere. The sticker on the radio says: ------------------------------ YAMAHA Model ER-1129V 4XY-88132-00 Clarion P\N 286-9182-00 ------------------------------- CB: I didn't remove the trunk to see if there a label on the CB unit but I am sure there is one , is there someone who has the info?????? ( Yamaha model, Clarion model, P\N's etc.. ) Your help in locating the wiring diagrams will be greatly appreciated, I am having a CB transmit problem and I don't seems to be able to fix it with the recommended procedures. (cable connections=ok, mic direction=ok, antenna=ok ) Note that the intercom portion works great so I know both mics and both switches are working fine. The problem with the CB is that the audio portion of the transmit signal is very weak (modulation), other people can hardly hear me but I can hear them clearly. Help! Thanks, Hermann
ralmand Posted July 28, 2015 #2 Posted July 28, 2015 Did you ever get a reply or figure it out? I just purchased a RSV and have the same problem
etcswjoe Posted July 28, 2015 #3 Posted July 28, 2015 Check the cable under your passenger seat especially if you have a backrest, tune your antenna and most importantly make sure the Antenna with the coil in the middle is on the left side of bike.
XV1100SE Posted July 29, 2015 #4 Posted July 29, 2015 This was an old thread from 2007. The person that posted the question is an expired member. Ralmand - as Joe posted... trace cables. When you turn on the cb...does the light on the controller show that the cb is powered on?
alwrmcusn Posted July 29, 2015 #5 Posted July 29, 2015 I believe I can send you a couple of PDF files for the wiring diagrams if you provide me your email. PM me that if you want them.
cglofland Posted April 22, 2016 #6 Posted April 22, 2016 I believe I can send you a couple of PDF files for the wiring diagrams if you provide me your email. PM me that if you want them. I just across this post am also having problems troubleshooting my ER-1129V radio/CB unit. Would appreciate the PDFS info if you still have it. Email cglofland@bellsouth.net Thank you Chan Lofland, Retired USArmy 30+ years
alwrmcusn Posted April 22, 2016 #7 Posted April 22, 2016 cglofland, let me know if you received the email with the three PDF files attached.
MikeWa Posted April 23, 2016 #8 Posted April 23, 2016 (edited) This seems to be a common problem with the Venture CB. Both of my bikes have had this issue. The output seems lower than radios on other motorcycles. I disassembled my CB radio and maxed out the gain, output and modulation pots inside and it is still low compared to some others (Harleys). It may have to do with out poor ground plane. Or compatibility with microphones. I have been wanting to add a sizeable metal plate under the trunk. The plan is to connect it to the antenna ground and see if that helps. I just haven't got around to it. Good luck on your quest. I do have the internal wiring schematics for the CB on PDF. If you want them PM me your e-mail and I will send um. Mike sent to Chan Edited April 23, 2016 by MikeWa add ps
videoarizona Posted April 25, 2016 #9 Posted April 25, 2016 So Mike, not to hijack thread... But how does one swr the second gen CB? Looks to me like the antenna cable goes straight into the CB box. TIA, david
MikeWa Posted April 25, 2016 #10 Posted April 25, 2016 (edited) With the trunk off remove the top of the plastic box. The CB is located inside. The antenna coax has a plug and the swr meter is attached there. You will need an adaptor to adapt the Motorola and RCA plugs. Mike Edited April 25, 2016 by MikeWa 1
iowagold Posted August 17, 2019 #11 Posted August 17, 2019 I believe I can send you a couple of PDF files for the wiring diagrams if you provide me your email. PM me that if you want them. hey i could use the pdf on the manual if you have them YAMAHA Model ER-1129V 4XY-88132-00 and any operation info on the radio and cb we cannot get the am fm radio to turn on... the cb turns on we just got the bike carbs done and the unit to run!!

Mike i just cut an good quality am/fm antenna extention cable in two and solder on pl259 male conectors with rg58 adaptor sleeve then use an standard inline swr meter for cb. works perfect!! metra brand is good for the extension... a 36 inch is nice... the one thing to keep in mind is the ground plane for transmit is tricky on bikes... I always used the antenna specialists (a/s for short) no ground plane antennas made for boats or for corvette... they used to have one that had a small trim capacitor under a label to tune the antenna... and it would get an 1.5 to 1 or better on 5-10 channels of 27 MHz cb… there are now antennas for no ground plane for simi truck mirror mount that can be adapted to the bike bar! yea old radio guy here!! 45+ years in the radio biz... I just do not have the wiring diagram for the bike yet.. my direct is iowagold at msn dot com back to the low modulation.. there is noise canceling on the intercom system for the vox part.... if you can find a good cb guy there is a limit diode on the pcb for the modulation that can be removed.. that helps as then you can go over 70% modulation... there is a way to also add a modulation booster or pre amp for just the cb… but then that is for a good radio tech.. advanced modification!! but they do work!! as well as retune the rf power stage... some are turned down on power to lower than 4 watts!! back in the day I saw one at 2 watts!! a bit of hand fine tuning to rf output stage and modulation stage inside the cb radio and a change to a good antenna... a good solid 4 miles of range during the day!! and that is good for most bikes!! with the factory units that is... after market cb like a cobra or uniden 5-6 miles range... but they do not interface with the intercom system...
Robert Costin Posted July 14, 2022 #13 Posted July 14, 2022 Hello! I have a problem with my Venture. Can you help me? The cable of right sight antenna îs în air. Wher i must plug în? Thanks
Freebird Posted July 14, 2022 #14 Posted July 14, 2022 Well that is strange. You should have a matching cable right there that it plugs into. The cable runs from there along with the other wires along the fender and then under the gas tank and Into the fairing where it plugs into a cable coming out of the radio. If it's not there, then it appears that somebody has removed it. Should be easy enough to buy a cable if it's missing. Not necessarily from Yamaha, any auto audio should be able to come up with one or you can buy the cable and put the ends on it yourself.
