Bob Myers Posted April 29, 2009 #26 Posted April 29, 2009 I have a stupid question, how can I tell if the fork brace on my bike is factory or aftermarket? Does the factory brace have any distinguishing marks? Factory brace is very thin and hollowed out in the back. The guy who works for us can actually bend one of those with his bare hands.
Squeeze Posted April 29, 2009 #27 Posted April 29, 2009 ... Does the factory brace have any distinguishing marks? Oh yes, it has ... It's lightweighted and of no use when it comes to real "braceing".
Craig Gulley Posted April 29, 2009 #28 Posted April 29, 2009 This is what is on my bike now. Can anyone tell if it is stock or not
Condor Posted April 29, 2009 Author #31 Posted April 29, 2009 (edited) This is what is on my bike now. Can anyone tell if it is stock or not Nope, not stock...Here's a pic on the 'OEM and the 'Condor'. Edited April 29, 2009 by Condor
timgray Posted April 29, 2009 #33 Posted April 29, 2009 This is what is on my bike now. Can anyone tell if it is stock or not yes that's stock, you need to send it to me for free You have what looks like aftermarket thicker brace. You will not need a Super Condor Ultimate Brace. (The SCUB!)
Craig Gulley Posted April 29, 2009 #34 Posted April 29, 2009 But if I send mine to you Timgray then I would need one. Ha Ha Ha!
bongobobny Posted April 29, 2009 #35 Posted April 29, 2009 I might be interested. How much shipped to Mississauga, Ontario, Canada? I haven't followed this fully. Is this a custom designed one, or a Super Brace? Condor could send yours to me and you could pick it up later at a M&E or something...
Condor Posted April 30, 2009 Author #36 Posted April 30, 2009 You will not need a Super Condor Ultimate Brace. (The SCUB!) Oh Geeze!!
safetyguy Posted April 30, 2009 #37 Posted April 30, 2009 If the group purchase works out, I'll buy one as well.
Pappa Bear Posted April 30, 2009 #38 Posted April 30, 2009 are they around 75 bucks or was that just the shipping cost of around 20 bucks to canada?
Condor Posted April 30, 2009 Author #39 Posted April 30, 2009 are they around 75 bucks or was that just the shipping cost of around 20 bucks to canada? Can't remember if it was $70 or $75 total, but the $20 bucks covered the shipping as well as the paypal fees. I just took a look at one of the earlier shipping receipts, and it was $17.38 to Canada, and things have gone up a bit since then. It was $10 bucks for US shipping and fees..
Condor Posted May 1, 2009 Author #41 Posted May 1, 2009 So have you decided to make a run Condor? Yep, I'm just waiting for information on quantities needed and pricing.
Condor Posted May 2, 2009 Author #42 Posted May 2, 2009 (edited) OK, from the response received to this thread I think it's reasonable that we start another Fork Brace group buy, so I'll be posting all the details in a new thread. For those that have posted to this thread expressing their interest... Many Thanks http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=35289 Edited May 2, 2009 by Condor
