Shipper Posted April 17, 2009 #1 Posted April 17, 2009 I thought my wife was going to take the course and ride the bike-but no way hosay. Can't ride two bikes (at least not at the same time). Need to sell my 2007 V-Star 1300 tourer. Has about everything including cruise control. Only 4700 miles and looks like new. Will take $8400 or for $400 more will add a Mustang seat with backrest (everyone knows what those things sell for). If anyone knows someone that might be interested, just send me an email.
sarges46 Posted April 17, 2009 #3 Posted April 17, 2009 Vstar 1300T is with the windshield, passenger backrest and saddlebags. They are a nice bike. Oops...I guess it can be called a cruiser.
ToRide1 Posted April 17, 2009 #4 Posted April 17, 2009 How would rate the 1300T to the Royal Star Tour Deluxe?. There is some talk that Yamaha may discontinue the 1100 V-Star and leave the 1300 & 950.
sarges46 Posted April 17, 2009 #5 Posted April 17, 2009 Smaller lighter v-twin. Not as much leg room. But Marilyn really liked it when she sat on one. She said it almost felt lighter than her 1100. She says she will get one when she tires of the 1100 vstar. Also has fuel injection if I recall right.
ToRide1 Posted April 17, 2009 #6 Posted April 17, 2009 Fuel injection has its pros & cons! With carburetors you have adjustments that need to be made from time to time and floats that get out whack now and then and re-jetting is easy and cheep, but with fuel injection its electronic controlled and injectors that can go bad or wear out with that should you need to ajust fuel you now need to spend $375 to $475 for a new after market control you can reprogram.
Shipper Posted April 18, 2009 Author #7 Posted April 18, 2009 The V-Star 1300T(touring) is really a neat bike. Yamaha did a great job when they developed it. I had read all the reviews before I bought it. I agonized over buying the RSTD, because even my wife said they look alike (both are silver and are the "S" model), but the 1300's a good 125# lighter and and is very noticeable when stopped. If I'd known she wasn't going to ride the bike I'd have gotten the Venture, but such goes life.
Carbon_One Posted April 18, 2009 #8 Posted April 18, 2009 Sell both and then get the Venture if that's what you'd rather have. Larry
Shipper Posted April 18, 2009 Author #9 Posted April 18, 2009 Sell both and then get the Venture if that's what you'd rather have. Larry Wow, now that's a thought! I think I'll start with the V-Star 1300.
