dr_bar Posted April 13, 2009 #1 Posted April 13, 2009 With the limited space on the bars, and the unlimited amount of things to put there, has anyone tried to put an accessory bar on their RSV? Texelent makes one for the GW but not for anything else. Here are a couple of pics to explain what I mean. This is the actual bar and mouting hardware, http://www3.telus.net/drbar/pics/access_bar1.jpg Here it is mounted; http://www3.telus.net/drbar/pics/access_bar2.jpg
Mariner Fan Posted April 13, 2009 #2 Posted April 13, 2009 There is a little room on the bar's for stuff. I have a GPS and a drink holder on mine so that's about it. Seems I've seen someone who did put an auxiliary bar on but it's been awhile ago.
whanna Posted April 13, 2009 #3 Posted April 13, 2009 Wow, it's been a while since I've seen THAT cell phone! I owned one, but that was 7 or 8 years ago, maybe more?! I have a cup holder and a Sirius receiver on my handlebars now, and am getting ready to add a Zumo 660, which I don't see as causing any problems with sightlines to the dash lights. What other accessories would you be looking at adding that would require more space - gauges (be nice if they were factory, wouldn't it?!), cell phone holder? I wonder how hard it would be to 'adjust' that bar to make it work? If it's too long, I'd think a trip to the vice for a meeting with the hack saw would make it just the right size. If too short, I wonder if you couldn't fabricate some clamps to hold a piece of aluminum tubing? My $0.02...
