spear Posted April 12, 2009 #1 Posted April 12, 2009 Guys and gals. After having my bike for a couple of years, I tend to think that white is a bit boring. I'm thinking of spending a couple of grand to give it a completely new paint job. I have some ideas in mind but was wondering if anybody else has done something similar? Would love to see some photos if you have, or be directed to any other sites you may know of where the 2nd Gen is featured with radical (or otherwise) paint work. The 2 shots below show the original, and what it would look like all pink. (Amazing what a bit of Photoshop work will do you you!)
1BigDog Posted April 12, 2009 #2 Posted April 12, 2009 LetHimRide had a beautiful indian mural done to his bike..look up his profile for pics.
az1103 Posted April 12, 2009 #3 Posted April 12, 2009 That pink is a bit jarring....wouldn't you say?
spear Posted April 12, 2009 Author #4 Posted April 12, 2009 That pink is a bit jarring....wouldn't you say? Yes - and very GAY!
TATERS Posted April 12, 2009 #5 Posted April 12, 2009 Would you like me to send Big Tom over to help you paint that bike? He has been doing apprentice work at BongoBobbys' house on Saturdays. Let me know. . . .

spear Posted April 12, 2009 Author #8 Posted April 12, 2009 Check this paint job out. Hmmmmmmmmm! Dunno about that one.
Lone Eagle Posted April 12, 2009 #9 Posted April 12, 2009 Mine is a little different - you could check it out in my gallery.
Dragracer Posted April 12, 2009 #10 Posted April 12, 2009 I went from this: http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/DSCN2788.jpg to this: http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/DSCN0355.jpg
bongobobny Posted April 12, 2009 #11 Posted April 12, 2009 Hey Spear, that pink just may be the ticket to convince Muffinman to come over to the dark side...:stirthepot:
Bummer Posted April 12, 2009 #14 Posted April 12, 2009 Hmmmmmmmmm! Dunno about that one.Not my taste either, but you can't get much more radical than actually needing a tiger nose headlight. I'm daydreaming about a subtle lace job in very very very dark red or black around the edges of my Black Cherry '06. Bodice lace over the headlight. Tramp stamp under the wing. Play up that sexiest color aspect.
dray Posted April 12, 2009 #15 Posted April 12, 2009 if you do paint it pink id make sure i dont drop my wallet and if you do id leave it on the ground and drive away un less you like that kind of STUFF!!! not a chance id even take a pink bike for free
mini-muffin Posted April 12, 2009 #16 Posted April 12, 2009 It takes a real man to ride a pink bike. I say go for it. Margaret
ToRide1 Posted April 12, 2009 #17 Posted April 12, 2009 Ever notice the manufactures seems to avoid the color green, there are a lot of very nice shades of green just ask any Irishman.
juggler Posted April 12, 2009 #18 Posted April 12, 2009 Yes - and very GAY! I was thinking more along the lines of it looks like a "Mary Kay" version of the RSV. So which one of you guys is selling Mary Kay products? :rasberry:
juggler Posted April 12, 2009 #19 Posted April 12, 2009 I've been wanting to have mine painted. I have a few color schemes in mind. Blue and White - but Redneck did that one already - and it looks good too. Maroon and tan like the old Indian Chiefs. Orange and Cream - again an old school color combo But after going to the Dinnie Bike show I can see all sorts of colors including many metallic combos. Metallic Candy Apple Red? Fortunately I have plenty of time to think of color schemes while I save up the money to have it done.
SilvrT Posted April 12, 2009 #20 Posted April 12, 2009 Black and pink ... like the old Pontiac of the 50's ... yeahhhhhh (I think it was a 55 Pontiac?)
loehring Posted April 13, 2009 #21 Posted April 13, 2009 It takes a real man to ride a pink bike. I say go for it. Margaret I guess I'm just not man enough. I could never ride a pink bike.
ToRide1 Posted April 13, 2009 #22 Posted April 13, 2009 I have notice Dodge has brought back some of the paint colors used in the 1930's & 40's on their PT Cruisers. Now there an idea try looking at some of the paint colors and combo's used 50 or 60 years ago.

Guest Lightnen Posted April 13, 2009 #24 Posted April 13, 2009 Well Elvis drove a Pink Caddy,, But this reminds me of the time when some friends and my self went down the street to this old pub, out side right in front of the place were 3 big H.D.'s and one of them was Pink. We went inside and wouldn't you know it only seats in the place were right behind these Big ass H.D. riders and their women folk. Well as we laughed about the H.D. (Pink) out front and the beers were more and more my friends dared me to go over and ask who was riding the Pink H.D. ya right. the smallest guy was I'd say 6'2" and about 280#. Well they findly heard us yakking and one of the guys comes over to the table ok here's where my ass is going to get kicked BUT he leans over to me and points to this little sweety and say its her bike and we all laughed about it... Seems like she had it painted pink so done of the guys would take her ride and she'd be stuck at home... Guess the moral is, its a great way to meet people and like her that owned the Pink H.D. no one wants to borrow it... LOL
Sideoftheroad Posted April 13, 2009 #25 Posted April 13, 2009 (edited) http://www.hangoutatflames.com/id29.html Not my bike but I kid him every once in a while that it looks like a pumpkin on 2 wheels. LOL It is a nice looking scoot. Edited April 13, 2009 by Sideoftheroad
