I installed an air horn on my VR today. Took it for a spin and I noticed the turn signals didn't work. If I turn on the hazard switch and turn it off again, then the signals work as they should. Till I turn them on again anyway. When I got back home I noticed that if I leave the hazards on and then turn on the signals the horn goes off. :smash2:

I'll have to undo what I did before tomorrows ride.

Kbay,

Here is a diagram for connecting the compact air horns (Wolo Bad Boy, Stebel Nautalis, etc.)

Maybe it'll be helpful.

Hey, Bummer - maybe you have discoverd an additional safety feature :confused24::rotf:? Doing that, the cagers would really know and hear your intentions - :rotf::rotf:. Good luck.

I got everything back to where it was before I started. I'll try that schematic that was posted. it looks better than the one that came with the horn, (that didn't work).

your venture sends GROUND when you press the horn button not +12V so you need to feed the relay 12V all the time and run the ground to the horn button wiring.

I figured that out after I wored everything up nice and then discovered that the horn is ground switching not Hot switching.:crying:

for once, just ONCE, I'd like a wiring diagram for dummies.

I would like to do this horn install sometime.

Soooo....

I take it the box on the left of the diagram is the battery.

What is the box with the numbers in it?

What is the big cylinder thingy in the upper right corner?

Meesa gots to know.

I knew I should have annotated it more for this post.

Box on left is indeed the battery.

Box with numbers is the relay. The relay has numbers on it and you plug things in to match the number.

The cylinder thingy is the compressor. Specifically it's intended to look like a nautalis horn.

The things that look like christmas trees indicate ground or -.

The point of the diagram is that you unplug the stock horn and plug the relay in in it's place. The wires are long enough you can tuck the relay in behind the cover. Then you run (+) from the battery, through a fuse, to the relay. Then you run a wire from the relay to the horn. Finally, you hook a wire from the (-) terminal on the horn to ground.
