RandyR Posted April 9, 2009 #1 Posted April 9, 2009 http://www.bohn-armor-pants.com I found a link to this site while browsing. The pants look interesting, I already have an armored jacket that I like. Has anyone used Bohn armor or have an opinion. I broke my right arm & shoulder in an accident 3 years ago, so am getting back into riding more cautiously than I have been in the past.
BoomerCPO Posted April 9, 2009 #2 Posted April 9, 2009 I wear a complete armoured outfit everytime I post on this Site..........it's a lot less messier than the "thick skin" butt ointment I normally use. Boomer....who rides with leather on his Venture cuz butt cream causes wedgies.
GolfVenture Posted March 31, 2012 #3 Posted March 31, 2012 Its been 3 years since this thread last was action. I just came across it. Was wondering if anymore members are wearing these now?
tomfromhull Posted March 31, 2012 #4 Posted March 31, 2012 I have the pants. The only discomfort is the thigh pads will get a little sweaty when it gets warm out. I think you could fix that problem real quick with a little cloth glued to them or something like that. They are the only pads that don't stay in permanently and can be a little tricky to put in. I still don't know if I put them in right because because they fit a couple of ways. But they are definitely worth the money.
RandyR Posted April 1, 2012 Author #5 Posted April 1, 2012 I wear them once in a while, not as often as I should. I took out one of the tailbone protector pads to make sitting more comfortable. haven't had problems with the hip pads.
IronMike Posted September 2, 2013 #6 Posted September 2, 2013 I have worn them in over 100 degree heat for more than 12 hours a day. They have two versions, mesh is very cooling. Cooler than bare skin. Its now CE rated armor. It does fit under normal jeans. But I wear Dragging Jeans over them. They are a priceless piece of mind when wearing rain gear. As far as what they will do in a crash, you would have to read the great testimonials on the Bon Armor site. Hear of people walking away from 70 mph crashes. Its a little tricky sizing. I think your best bet is order right on. They will trade it out no charge for thirty days.
Brake Pad Posted September 2, 2013 #8 Posted September 2, 2013 I have the BDU's they have the same pockets for this pad. but they are not a flexible, but they sure cut the wind http://www.lapolicegear.com/bdupants
GAWildKat Posted November 10, 2013 #9 Posted November 10, 2013 Mike and I have the Bohn armored mesh pants, the right knee armor presses a lot on my right knee, I think Mike has a similar issue with the left knee, other than that we love the armor.
