ChurchBuilder Posted April 9, 2009 #1 Posted April 9, 2009 Hey, I just god 3 pairs of brake pads for $38.25. Thats almost the same price for 1 pair at the dealsr. www.sixity.com Just put them on and they are just like the old ones.
ChurchBuilder Posted April 10, 2009 Author #3 Posted April 10, 2009 They look just like the ones I took off. They have been on there for 3 years.
Jerry M Posted April 10, 2009 #4 Posted April 10, 2009 I hope they look better than the ones you took off.just had to do it.Jerry M.
RedRocket Posted April 10, 2009 #5 Posted April 10, 2009 I looked all around the site to find out their country of origin but it didn't show where they were made. China I'd guess. $ 48 for a full set of 3 ( 86+)is pretty darn good. At 1/2 the price of EBC's are they 1/2 as good or better?
ChurchBuilder Posted April 10, 2009 Author #6 Posted April 10, 2009 The new ones look just like the old. They were on there for a few years.
ChurchBuilder Posted April 10, 2009 Author #7 Posted April 10, 2009 Actually, the old ones were kinda worn out!
mini-muffin Posted April 10, 2009 #8 Posted April 10, 2009 So what brakes are you buying. We only buy EBC don't want any problems with your brakes and they are the best ones to have. You ask the guys on here and pretty much all of them use EBC. Margaret
RedRocket Posted April 10, 2009 #9 Posted April 10, 2009 I thought I had posted it last night, but I don't see that JC Whitney currently has EBC's for Ventures on sale for $ 26.97 per disc.
Sylvester Posted April 10, 2009 #10 Posted April 10, 2009 I just had one of my rear pads disintegrate while navigating through a switch back in the Blue Ridge mountains. Lost all rear braking and when I got home I removed the pads and found no friction pad left. There were pieces left down in the caliper. These were Ferodo pads and I put in EBC HH on Monday. I don't think saving a little money is worth the big heartache that could be in the future.
1BigDog Posted April 10, 2009 #11 Posted April 10, 2009 What bugged me with that web site was not having an 800 number to call if there are any problems.
Monty Posted April 12, 2009 #12 Posted April 12, 2009 I got them and installed them today. The bag had EBC part nos on it (FA 88). Seem to be good quality. They are semi-metallic organic pads. The only difference with them is that they are a continuous pad, without the relief down the middle. I'm happy with my purchase so far. $38 bucks for 3 sets....oh yes.
timgray Posted April 13, 2009 #13 Posted April 13, 2009 I ordered a set at the price of 1 set of EBC I'll give them a try, Heck I need lots of practice changing brakes and bleeding.. any idea where they ship from? I cant find their location anywhere.
KiteSquid Posted April 13, 2009 #15 Posted April 13, 2009 The only difference with them is that they are a continuous pad, without the relief down the middle. Do you mean they don't have the wear indicator groove in them?
Monty Posted April 13, 2009 #16 Posted April 13, 2009 Correct. The groove also helps to cool the pad.
