I keep seeing the Kuryakyn Master Cylinder Switch panels. This would solve all my switch problem at one stroke. I have two switches installed in my right hand dash cover as of now but they are a bit awkward in that position. I want to mount my digital volt meter in the dash where the switches are now and find a way to mount a switch panel on the left side handbar. I would like to have 3 switches or even a 4th one.

They don't seem to have anything that's bolt on for a 1st Gen, Doh!, no surprise there but I was hoping that someone here has made a mod for something like this.

Any suggestions?

I fabricated a switch box out of aluminum and installed a modified mounting plate for the radio controls that moves them over about an inch. The switch box is mounted next to the radio controls. I only have 1 switch there for my high intensity driving lamps but this might give you an idea. I don't have a pic but will take one if you want.

Hey SilvrT.

This is what I came up with. You do something similar?

I might put something together to show how it came together. Pretty simple and only needed to change to a longer bolt and spacer to mount it up.

Pardon the bike. I got it opened up to do stator and other upgrades. I'm looking forward to having it in one piece again.

Hey SilvrT,

I just got done with the wiring for the switch. Cut out all the old stuff the PO did and started over. Built a complete harness for the bumper and fender lights, the LED marker lights and the driving lights all run from the switch panel. Did it right and and plan on never ever doing it again! LOL! What a PITA. I'm not a huge fan of doing electrical work in any form.

Just call me Sparky!

But it works like I planned on and it didn't break the billfold so I'm happy with the project.

My fix for this, was to Remove the upper dash Air Vents ( and all the ducting ) .

Never to be reinstalled.

Then I filled in the Vent Space on the panel, and I now use that space for mounting Switches, and gauges.

However: ( Some Fabrication, is required ) But I'm sure you are up to the job !!!

Maby not the best solution, but it works.
