Ivan Posted April 7, 2009 #3 Posted April 7, 2009 Did you see the comment about the homebrew ice studs?
DragonRider Posted April 7, 2009 #5 Posted April 7, 2009 With traction like that he better have plenty of ice under him for those burnouts...................
Squeeze Posted April 7, 2009 #6 Posted April 7, 2009 Hey thank you giving me that Hint !! :thumbsup2: I've seen this before but it's incredible anyway. I don't know if i'd like to try this. Ice and a Lot of Power on two Wheels don't go too good together. Now, a 4 Wheeler would be another Story ....
eagleeye Posted April 7, 2009 #7 Posted April 7, 2009 Reminds me of last winter, out ice fishing and a kid on a dirt bike, studded up, took off and rode on the back wheel all the way across the lake and back. He was having fun for sure. Steve
pegscraper Posted April 7, 2009 #8 Posted April 7, 2009 Three wheelers and four wheelers are a whole lot more fun in two inches of snow than any two wheeler would be. You don't even have to stud the tires. Get two of them out there, and the game is to see who can throw the biggest rooster tail of snow on the other guy. It's a blast, and great exercise too.
slick97spirit Posted April 7, 2009 #9 Posted April 7, 2009 Those grooves looked to be about 4" deep. Wonder how thick the ice was?
Bubber Posted April 7, 2009 #10 Posted April 7, 2009 In Minnesota they have circle track racing with dirt bikes with studs out on the lakes. What do you expect us to do in the winter? I have also seen mini style cars (Mini Cooper and the like)doing the same thing out on the lakes with studded tires. There must be some organized group that puts these on. Very fun to wach!:banana: Bubber
Squeeze Posted April 7, 2009 #11 Posted April 7, 2009 Oh Folks, i forgot to add ... You sure wouldn't do that on a 2Gen Max. I'm still in early Break-In riding Procedures(250 km on the Odo), but my preliminary Findings are so far ... Arms lenghtend at least half an Inch and chicken Stripes are almost gone(3mm left each Side) without any extended Effort to do so. Foot Pegs are no high enough, lost at least 2 mm on the outher Toe Area on my Boots. I've ridden a Lot of hot 1Gen Vmaxxes, bored, EFI, whatever ... There's only one Bike that was more powerful than this 2Gen Monster. Of Course, all Findings by my personal Seat of the Pants Dyno. Your Mileage may vary. This Thing is so freakin' powerful, there on the Lake with studded Tires, there would be NO Thrust at all, just grinding a deep Groove into the Ice.
friesman Posted April 7, 2009 #12 Posted April 7, 2009 Those grooves looked to be about 4" deep. Wonder how thick the ice was? This past winter we had up to 40 inches of ice on most lakes, but it was the coldest winter in the last 31 years. Most lakes and rivers still have ice on right now, theres still guys driving their pickups on the ice on last mountain lake just north of town. There are a few guys around here that race their bikes on the ice with studded tires like that, but Ive never seen a vmax on the ice, thats impressive! There may be ice on the lakes, But almost everyone that has a bike running has it out on the road!!! Brian
Squeeze Posted April 7, 2009 #13 Posted April 7, 2009 Squidley said the Vmax has a Michigan Plate, so it seems this Guy wasn't to far fro Home ...
T.J. Posted April 7, 2009 #14 Posted April 7, 2009 Squidley said the Vmax has a Michigan Plate, so it seems this Guy wasn't to far fro Home ... At the end of the video, it says Cass Lake, Michigan. He put all those screws in the tire from inside out. Fun Fun Fun.

This Thing is so freakin' powerful Me thinks Squeeze has a huge grin on his face that will NOT be removed anytime soon...... Dan Most of the Times i'm grinning, yes. But to be honest, it's not only freakin' fast, sometimes it's very near "scary fast". And i'm still NOT on WOT. Didn't got over 7000 as of now. :bluesbrother: Other Riders report they exposed Calouses on both Hands from hanging on. I first laughed about that. You know, a good Joke and braggin'. But now ... This Motor will make a wonderful Base for a Tourer. SOOOO much Power from the bottom and it's pulling like a Freight Train, on whatever Gear you selected and whatever RPM. I think you could ride out the Driveway, switch to fifth Gear and stay there all Day long until you need to come to a dead Stop at a Light or Gas Station.
