Guest Vermincelli Posted August 9, 2007 #1 Posted August 9, 2007 going to have to change mine out here soon and was wondering if anyone has used aftermarket wires like Accels instead of the factory sets?
GeorgeS Posted August 10, 2007 #2 Posted August 10, 2007 take a look here, E-Bay # 220137933462 place in Wisconsin, sells matched sets of wires with Caps
rhncue Posted August 10, 2007 #4 Posted August 10, 2007 ...And matched plugs to boot!! Almost any generic part store ( Auto Zone, Advance Auto and such) that sells plugs also sell the NGK plug boots that fit the Venture. Solid copper core wire, which is used on Ventures, is also sold. The total price for all new wires and caps is only a little over 25.00. Dick
Guest Vermincelli Posted August 10, 2007 #5 Posted August 10, 2007 I was wondering as the whole reason to swap cables is to try and eliminate the AM radio whine. Will have to see if my little auto parts stores around here have a set. The ones on ebay look ok but it seems they are not resistors.
Guest Vermincelli Posted August 25, 2007 #6 Posted August 25, 2007 take a look here, E-Bay # 220137933462 place in Wisconsin, sells matched sets of wires with Caps Since the auto parts stores here in Carson are lame, I decided to give those guys a shot. Just got them in today and definitely will be using them for all my other bikes now. Plug wires are Accel 7mm copper cores, NGK boots already attached, NGK DPR8EA-9 plugs, wire looms w/ zipties and a card showing the resistance levels for all 4 wires done prior to shipping. $47 bucks. Runs better now and no whine at all on the radio.
