Rottdoglover Posted April 7, 2009 #6 Posted April 7, 2009 Work really sux. But we gotta keep doing it 'cause millions on welfare depend on us. And the paycheck does come in handy.

mraf Posted April 7, 2009 #10 Posted April 7, 2009 Sorry to hear that Dan. When work begins to be a hate thing it is time for a vacation or a change. Either one helps the soul. I find that a vacation is good for a quick fix. Clears the mind for remembering the reasons why we do what we do for a living. A real vacation has to be miles away from home. I don't unwind until I'm at least 3 days ride away from home. I guess it has to be from the thinking that if I'm only a few hours away from home I can be their there quickly to make a difference. If I'm 3 days away I can't change a thing. I love my job but there are trying times for all of us. Hang in there better days are coming.
1 Canuck Posted April 7, 2009 #11 Posted April 7, 2009 Just got laid off 2 months ago and I need a job! I wish I had a job to hate.
sarges46 Posted April 7, 2009 #12 Posted April 7, 2009 What happened Dan? Knowing your job..could be anything. But I agree...it gets to ya after a few dozen years dont it.
5bikes Posted April 7, 2009 #13 Posted April 7, 2009 Better than college (no money), than as a kid (too much incertainy), between jobs (knew I had to go back). Retirement= No stress, got money, kids grown, get along with wife to best ever, 5 bikes, more friends now than in my entire prior life, more fun, can ride any day, no jerky bosses, still healthy, everything paid for, make fewer stupid mistakes, too busy to get a job, hated work. Thanks for continuing to work to pay for my social security.
Skid Posted April 7, 2009 #14 Posted April 7, 2009 Dan, your starting to make sense !!!!! And your one up on me, i was blessed with 5" of snow this morning to drive in. 1BigDog Posted April 7, 2009 #15 Posted April 7, 2009 I hate work too. I was just offered a second shot at an early retirement. Same deal as last year. Only 900.00 a month. Told them sorry folks, I cant be bought off that cheap. Make it 1800.00 and im gone.
DragonRider Posted April 7, 2009 #16 Posted April 7, 2009 So they can give it to all those idiots who run major corporations into the ground and then get big gigantic bonuses for doing so, with our hard earned money..........I think not:no-no-no:...................what they did put my retirement off till 2013 or 14:bang head:..........That Sucks..............considering I was planning or retiring in just 2 1/2 years. Our country needs our taxes, so to work we must go!!!!!! Earl 86 VR 00 RSV
bongobobny Posted April 7, 2009 #17 Posted April 7, 2009 Yah!!! The fewer the years I have left to work, the more it Sucks!!!!! 4 1/2 here...
Yammer Dan Posted April 9, 2009 Author #18 Posted April 9, 2009 What happened Dan? Knowing your job..could be anything. But I agree...it gets to ya after a few dozen years dont it. New Warden with a Butt kissing "Click" around him Rick. I don't fit it that. I think it's time to start staying home!!
99silver Posted April 9, 2009 #19 Posted April 9, 2009 I still have one room downstairs..... I love my job, just can't wait to retire..... Been looking on the net for homes and property, I think were going to need more than one room unless your mean that 42'x70' room. That one might do with a few creature comfort upgrades.

a1bummer Posted April 9, 2009 #21 Posted April 9, 2009 Right now I would be happy as hell to get back to work. I lost my job after I wrecked my knees on the job a few years ago. Back to school to train for a different career.
sarges46 Posted April 9, 2009 #22 Posted April 9, 2009 Lots of those guys, Dan, more worried about their careers than the people who work for them. The "soldiers" will always show what the leadership is like in the long run. I dont fit into that group either and get my butt hauled up a couple times for hurting someones feeling.
Yammer Dan Posted April 11, 2009 Author #23 Posted April 11, 2009 I'm averaging about 70 hrs per week with better than hr driving time each way. Don't have time for anything, bike needs fixed and riding season coming up!!! Just a little uposet with the whole mess. retirement looking good. I may have to go to work at something else but just a few hrs somewhere would probally be enough. I'll quit crying and get ready to go to work.
MidlifeVenture Posted April 11, 2009 #24 Posted April 11, 2009 Ah the grass is always greener on the other side down to 32 hrs and no money for anything.:crying:
funrider Posted April 11, 2009 #25 Posted April 11, 2009 Just got laid off 2 months ago and I need a job! I wish I had a job to hate. Boy do I know what you mean. I just got laid off three weeks ago. I hate not having a job. I can meet my bills on unemployment but not much left over. I didn't make big money, $17.00/hr, had only been on the job for 7 months, that was after leaving a job I had been on for 11 years. The way the economy is, I could see taking a job at 10. to $12.00 /hr. Talk about hating your job, I hate the knots in my stomach from worrying about paying bills, how to take care of my family, medical bills and what will happen if I have to take a job at a hug cut in pay. Continue to hate your job, it is better than the alternative.
