You may have found your problem. If not, I will share a little of my experience;

Symptom of leaking diaphragms:

Idles and runs ok at lower RPM, will not run above ??? RPM (4k on Honda twin)

The diaphragms of CV carbs control fuel and air flow at speed. The diaphragm lifts a slide in the carb to allow more air in. The bottom of the slide has the main metering rod that lifts out of the main jet to allow more fuel. A broken diaphragm will not lift the cylinder. Idle and low RPM are unaffected, as RPM increases, one or more pistons do not get an increase in air/fuel and drag down the engine. Replace leaky diaphragms, they do not work right when patched.

Symptom of bad or "turned" gas:

Bad gas occurs after the fuel has sit in the tank for a couple of months (or, like me, you may get a tankful right out of the pump!). Bad gas is a very big problem in the last couple of years. Bad gas clogs the idle/low speed circuits. The result is a bike that is hard to start, it has lumpy/poor idle and blubbers at light throttle. I have successfully cleaned a partly blocked low speed circuit (KZ1000) by removing the air horn screw and shot carb cleaner into the hole. Remember to turn the screw in until it lightly bottoms and count the turns before removing it. On my ZX11D7 I added about 4 ounces of Sea Foam to around half of a tank, rode the bike for 10 miles to mix the fuel and Foam, and let it sit overnight. Fixed!
