Condor Posted April 5, 2009 #1 Posted April 5, 2009 Hey, it's early Sunday morning, and the mind's wandering. Some of you may remember?? But a few years back after VWI? a box of Bakersfield dirt was packed up by Hdhtr and sent out to a member who couldn't attend the rally, but were there in spirit. The deal was that the dirt was to be spred on a tarp and a picture of the member was to be taken while riding thru it... then posted to the board. Afterwards the dirt forwarded on to the next member. For all this trouble a VWI patch was mailed to the VR Dirt Rider. It was a great idea!!... I'm not even sure if this was something that happened in the pre-crash days?? Anyway, what happened to the dirt?? Don't want it... just curious.
Black Owl Posted April 5, 2009 #2 Posted April 5, 2009 If I remember correctly, Squidley had it last. da http://www.postsmile.com/img/summer/95.gif is back...
mini-muffin Posted April 5, 2009 #3 Posted April 5, 2009 Yep Squid has the dirt. I asked him last time I saw him and it's in his garage. Margaret
Condor Posted April 5, 2009 Author #4 Posted April 5, 2009 Hey Brad... got anything legal to grow in that dirt yet???
DragonRider Posted April 5, 2009 #5 Posted April 5, 2009 I think Squidley ought to bring it to Vogel or MD and let some more ride thru it.........if there arent any trees growing in it by now.......I know when it came down here we had about 20 bikes ride thru it and I was one of them, I got the patch to prove it....
1BigDog Posted April 6, 2009 #6 Posted April 6, 2009 And we added some Georgia nuts to the mix too.....
Squidley Posted April 6, 2009 #7 Posted April 6, 2009 Hey Brad... got anything legal to grow in that dirt yet??? Wellll not quite legal, well I think it is in California I have the dirt and it's in the garage, we can also send it around again or I can bring it to MD and we could easily resurect the ride through Bakersfield
Riderduke Posted April 6, 2009 #8 Posted April 6, 2009 I rode through it on my very first M&E. I was saying to myself, when Muffinman told me what we were going to do, what have I gotten myself into! Today its one of my treasured VR.org pictures:thumbsup2:
Guest Swifty Posted April 7, 2009 #9 Posted April 7, 2009 Keep your hazmat suit on handling that stuff. There's a lot of radiation in it.
