Could someone steer me to the post on refreshing the cannister? I get the gist of it I wanna know if I can unscrew the hoses off the ends to get it out and work on it? The bike is an 89 VR

This may be a dumb qustion but what is the cannister for and why do you have to dry out the dessicant?

Cannister contains the desiccant to dry the air pumped through the compressor in the CLASS system. It is under the rear passenger seat.

Can you unscrew the air lines from both ends? Don't want to break anything!

I had mine out, and I am sure I removed all lines. Not sure but I think I removed one line, then unscrewed cannister from the other line. I really had a tough time getting into the cannister to get to the desiccant. There is a post somewhere here, in 1st gen, about the problems and solutions to getting it out.
