Iowa Guy Posted April 2, 2009 #1 Posted April 2, 2009 I recently bought a 01 Kawasaki Ninja 250 for my youngest son to learn to ride on. I enrolled him in the basic course with ABATE and was letting my wife know about it so she could coordinate schedules (manage our lives). Then she says, I want to learn how to ride too. I said, WHAT? She has shown no interest in riding since I bought the bike nearly four years ago and then when I buy a screamin green crotch rocket she wants to learn. Of course, I sent in the application for the course right away but I am still shaking my head. Iowa Guy

GG54172 Posted April 2, 2009 #3 Posted April 2, 2009 My mother and Step father bought a heritage classic in 2004. I was trying to talk my mom into taking the MSF course with my stepfather. She said she had no interest in piloting the bike. I knew better. Sure enough, she called me up the next spring asking what bike she should buy. I started her on a TW200 and she has since purchased a 2006 Street Bob. Women are funny.....

Iowa Guy Posted June 8, 2009 Author #5 Posted June 8, 2009 She and my other son took the course and passed the exam. I helped her practice in a parking lot. Maybe that is why she took a wide corner and dumped it in a flower bed. Only place in the whole area she or the bike wouldn't get hurt. I gotta look for a bigger garage. The 650 V-Star is a good lady's bike. Any other suggestions? Iowa Guy:900[1]:
Reaney in NH Posted June 8, 2009 #6 Posted June 8, 2009 My Wife took the MSC offerred in NH about 3 years ago. I started her out on a 535 Virago... it was cute, very lite and low seat. She loved it... But it just wasn't big enough for the hiway. So after a year on the Virago... I bought her a 2003 750 Honda ACE with windshield and bags. Now she rides her own almost everywhere we go. I'm so proud of her... 50+ years old and still learning new things. She is awesome!!!

Bob Myers Posted June 9, 2009 #8 Posted June 9, 2009 My wife rides a Vulcan 800, she won't even ride the Venture with me any more, she would rather pilot her own. 800 are pretty easy to find and cheap. I have an extra one if you are even slightly interested.
BoomerCPO Posted June 9, 2009 #9 Posted June 9, 2009 the fix is in;dust, clean, cook, wash,on:bowdown: your days off My thoughts exactly. Poor sucker might as well hang a For Sale sign on his scoot. Boomer......who's idea of doing dishes is to call the pooch into the Kitchen and let her lick everything clean.
footsie Posted June 9, 2009 #10 Posted June 9, 2009 My wife is 5'2" started on a lowered honda magna VF750, and is now riding a lowered Road Star 1600, which she says is the easiest bike she ever had to handle. The road star is very easy to lower.
