windsheild help

what has to come off to change a windsheild, i have a 01 venture royal star. just looking for the easiest way, and what comes off first. thanks in advance for any info...bob

There are too screws that you remove from the top of the inner part of the fairing. They are the only two that hold the chrome strip on. There are some tabs on the chrome strip that break very easily so be careful as you work it off. If you break one, don't panic, there is an easy fix posted in the tech library. Once you get the chrome strip off, you will see the screws that hold the windshield on. Very easy to do.

Here's a thread that should help. You don't have to split the fairing so you can ignore the first part....just read through it ... starting about the third picture down.

Wish I would have known about the easy fix in the tech library.....I broke one and they cost $175.00 for that chrome plastic!!!

If you happen to have the old one with only the tabs broken, I would be interested in it. Mine somehow got cracked on the end and there is a piece missing.
