83 VR CB radio

I have a cycle comm 1200 CB radio and after years of service with no trouble I now have a whine in the CB and the AM / FM . has this happned to any one. It dose have a NF-721 noise filter don't know if it has gone bad or if something else has happend. The NF-721 is not made any more but I do have a filter coming from airrider that they say has replaced the 721. Can I check any more then just the noise filter
