83VR3711 Posted March 30, 2009 #1 Posted March 30, 2009 Not sure on whether this is a good deal..... I have found a 2001 Yamaha Silverado for $450. It looks great from the pics. The down side is that it has flood damage (salt water) from Hurricane Ike. Is it worth the time and effort to buy a salt water flooded scoot?
RedRider Posted March 30, 2009 #2 Posted March 30, 2009 Only if you can afford to completely loose $450. You will need to replace all the electrical as every connection will be corroded. If salt water got into the cylinders, sell it for scrap. RR
jburrell Posted March 30, 2009 #3 Posted March 30, 2009 Also all the metal will eventually rust out quickly becasue salt water is in everything that had a pinhole opening and salt water is on every hidden creavice. Resell it as part by part is the only thing it is good for and then your gonna get bad resuklts. My opion is "Run Forrest run". LOL
83VR3711 Posted March 30, 2009 Author #4 Posted March 30, 2009 Thank you all. I will definitly be running in the other direction.
