lombaj2468 Posted March 26, 2009 #1 Posted March 26, 2009 Hello all, I purchased a Clearview windshield on ebay and installed it. The only thing I noticed is that the chrome mole (36) 4XY-28345-00-00 MOLE does not fit tightly against the shield. Has anyone installed a Clearview windshield, and is there a trick or something? Thanks, John
RoadKill Posted March 26, 2009 #2 Posted March 26, 2009 Call Clearview. They are stand up folks. maybe its slightly off. Mine fit perfect, but I have heard of others who had the problem and Clearview has made it right.
colesgrandpaw Posted March 26, 2009 #3 Posted March 26, 2009 I have my second clearview on that fits somewhat better than the first. I called and told them that the second sheild was a little better than the first but did not fit like i should, i was told there was nothing wrong with the sheild and thay had done all thay were going to do. All this was happened after waiting for 6 months to get the sheild because of the problem that thay were having with the bubbles in the sheild after it was formed. I had to sand some off of the edge of the molding where it hit the sheild on the outer edge. I will not recommend them to anyone. Raymond:thumbdown:
BuddyRich Posted March 26, 2009 #4 Posted March 26, 2009 My molding does not fit right on a stock shield or the clearview. Has a small gap. May not be the windshield at all. Even after getting a new molding it didn't fit just right. The shape of the fairing shapes the molding somewhat.
Tom Posted March 26, 2009 #5 Posted March 26, 2009 Not being there I do not know but If the clip on the moulding is broke nothing is going to be tight..I thought my clips were not broke but I looked again..
davecb Posted March 27, 2009 #6 Posted March 27, 2009 I put the Clearview on mine. After installation I noticed my chrome molding was not in place, as if the clip was broken. Not the case with mine. I took the molding back out and reinserted it, doing everything very slowly to make sure it was seated correctly. It went back together fine, and I have had no problems with it...
