Getting ready to install my new left side lower fairing. The original cracked right where the center screw tab is. Now I notice that there is quite a bit of stress from the screws not lining up properly. I have tweeked the brackets a little and that seems to help. The crash/tipover bars are not bent. I'm thinking of omitting the center screw altogether.

Has anyone else had this problem?

A LOT of people have had that problem. Many have been replaced under warranty. Mine cracked a couple of years after the warranty ran out. I just used some JB Weld on the inside to repair it. Always seems to be the left side too.

I have. It leaves a gap at the bottom of the lower, but doesn't show too bad.

My Left one cracked same spot. Swifty fixed it up for me on the back side with that plastex (I think that was what it was).
