Cougar Posted March 25, 2009 #1 Posted March 25, 2009 I switched to Windows Explorer 8 A few months ago and I am liking it.. I was messing around with the links bar/ favorites bar across the top and I turned them in (tiny) small icons. I have been recking my brain trying to get them back to there normal size. any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jeff
zlMark Posted March 25, 2009 #2 Posted March 25, 2009 Well with IE7 you just right click on the bar and click "Use Large Icons". I hope this helps:thumbsup2:
Freebird Posted March 25, 2009 #3 Posted March 25, 2009 IE8 is pretty much the same way. Just right click on the menu bar and then select customize. It will give you options of large icons, icons with text, etc.
Freebird Posted March 25, 2009 #5 Posted March 25, 2009 Well heck, I did a screen shot to show you what I see but this awful internet connection at the hotel is not letting me upload files. I'll post it later when I have a better connection.
Freebird Posted March 25, 2009 #6 Posted March 25, 2009 Trying again. If it works, here is an attachment of what I see when I right click on the menu bar of IE8.
Cougar Posted March 25, 2009 Author #7 Posted March 25, 2009 Nope tried that as well. right now it is set just like yours. Tell ya what make them bad boys tiny little frigging squares like mine then try to make them go back to the normal way. *lol*
Cougar Posted March 26, 2009 Author #8 Posted March 26, 2009 Don , here is the screen shoot of what I am talking about. I have tried it all. wonder why it is so hard to make it go back? seems as if that option went away as well. -Notice the TINY Icons Jeff
Freebird Posted March 26, 2009 #9 Posted March 26, 2009 OK....here's what it looks like has happened. First of all, when you right click on the menu bar, you should be able to deselect the "Favorites" bar to get rid of all of those. If you wish to keep them, then right click on any one of those tiny icons and then choose "Customize Title Widths". You will see that the choices are "Long Titles", "Short Titles", "Icons Only". You can choose to add the titles to them if you wish. I personally have the favorites bar turned off and just use the drop down menu for my favorites. Actually, I don't even USE IE8 but if I did, I would have it turned off. You have a LOT of favorites added to the bar. Don't know why or how you added so many because I think you have to add each one manually. When you save a page to your favorites, you have a choice of adding them to your favorites menu or to the favorites bar. You've added a LOT of them to the bar. To get rid of them, you have to right click and choose "delete". Don
Cougar Posted March 26, 2009 Author #10 Posted March 26, 2009 Thanks Don Now that one i did not think of. sheesh so simple.. here I am trying to find it all in boxes and not right clicking on the icons ! DUH!!!! FIXED NOW! Now fix one more thing and I will leave you alone for at least a week I promise *he he he* Under the box that I am typing this. I lost the main Smileys I checked something and now all I got is this guy to click on Is there a way I can set it back to default? Thanks Much Jeff
Freebird Posted March 26, 2009 #11 Posted March 26, 2009 Go to UserCP and choose "Edit Favorite Smilies" from the menu on the left. Then you can just select the ones that you want to show up.
Cougar Posted March 27, 2009 Author #12 Posted March 27, 2009 GREAT! Now I have to keep my promise! :stirthepot:
