Ferrantelli Posted March 24, 2009 #1 Posted March 24, 2009 This for those of you that have removed the passenger arm rest rubber pads, to access the rear speakers or what have you. What have you used to put them back? The double sided tape I have as well as the local parts stores are too thick! I was considering black adhesive silicone. Any suggestions!!!
50btripn Posted March 24, 2009 #2 Posted March 24, 2009 Wish I could help, but I just replaced my rear speakers, and the stock double sided tape held up well enough that I did not need to put anything else on there. Just gotta peel the armrests back carefully to reuse the stock tape.
BigBoyinMS Posted March 24, 2009 #3 Posted March 24, 2009 (edited) 3M makes a double stick that is super thin and super strong. Probably the same stuff. If I find the part# I'll edit here. EDIT: I think this may be what you need. "3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 4257 is a 0.38 mm (0.015 in) thick, gray, double-coated acrylic foam tape" Edited March 24, 2009 by BigBoyinMS
got2mnytoys Posted March 24, 2009 #4 Posted March 24, 2009 I just as of sat. put mine back on after putting in bazooka speakers (jury still out on them , still having problems ) with the moulding tape from advance auto parts
Eck Posted March 24, 2009 #5 Posted March 24, 2009 You might be able to heat them up just a little with a hair dryer to reactivate all the glue where it doesnt stick... dont hold th eair ghun on it to long though...
