Wyoming Tom Posted March 23, 2009 #1 Posted March 23, 2009 Friends I've heard the idle pilot holes are very small on our bikes. Has this become a problem for any of you getting plugged (rough idle)? Wyoming Tom
1sttenor Posted March 23, 2009 #2 Posted March 23, 2009 Shouldn't be. Good preventative maint is 1 can of SeaFoam every 3 months. If your experiencing a rough idle it may be that you need to balance the carbs. Easy job, but you'll need mercury sticks/carbtune/etc. That usually takes 20 minutes.
gscbertrand Posted March 23, 2009 #3 Posted March 23, 2009 I think a whole can of sea foam is a waste. The label says you can treat something around 90 litres with 1 can. 1/3 should be sufficient.

Wyoming Tom Yes they can be a problem if the bike wasnt taken care if you didnt use some sort of fuel conditioner Seafoam or Stabil while sitting bike wont idle w/out choke on or reving it up.

I agree with you as I spoke to a rep from Seafoam and he mentioned 1 oz per gallon, or max would be 2 oz per gallon for a real cleaning. Brad
